"I think I've played them four times in the last three weeks," Ward said of his latest Devils' encounter. "I feel like I dream about them in my sleep."
He doesn't jinx the Bruins, he just tells it like it is instead of always being a homer.
IMO Brick is a breath of fresh air compared to so many sports announcers/color guys in the area (Dale and Remdog excluded)
You NEVER say the word Shutout until the game is over. When he said Joey MacDonald has a shutout going into the third period I thought....he's done. That, my friend, is a jinx in the hockey world. I like Jack, but he has done that a few times. LOL

I remember one year in the playoffs, (I think it was 4 years ago) against Montreal, Boston was dominating Montreal in the game, but Montreal's goalie was keeping them in the game. Then with about 5 minutes to go in a tie game, the announcer (don't think it was Jack) says "How many times to we see a team like the Bruins dominate the game, then see the dominated team like the Canadians score a goal" and the second he said that me and my father said why the Christ is he mentioning that, and low and behold, maybe 45 seconds later, Montreal scores and wins the game.

Oh, I didn't hear that part. I am a little superstitious

You're a hockey fan....it's in your blood. LOL We are like the players (even though I think they are too superstitious to admit they are superstitious)....we are creatures of habit when it comes to the sport. Jack should know that it's cardinal sin number one is to say the word shutout when the goalie is pulling one out.

When I heard that I threw up my hands and gave Jack a few explatives. I was pretty pissed about that.
I wonder how Timmy feels.
He faces more shots in one period, than JM did the entire game.
Go figure
Our D must have been scared as hell and played very tight in front of Macdonald. There's no way we can afford to play Timmy on back to backs and Macdonald might be the guy to spare him from that, so let's hope it's the case!

My feeling is Timmy would feel great about it. He does need some rest along the way and it wouldn't happen unless a somewhat capable goalie was spelling him.

Agreed. It must also be nice for him to be able to sit for an ENTIRE game and see the Bruins WIN!

man, I was against the MacDonald claim, but he plyed very well last night. Albeit the defense played well also (and by well, I mean like a normal squad of NHL defenseman ), but he looked pretty solid.
Rink breakage was one of the reasons I always loved the B's @ Buffalo games in the old Aud. The 30 minutes or so it took them to fix that rathole was enough time for Fred and Derek to get into some great, incoherent rants. They were hilarious.
Let's see if Jack treats us to some more Brodeur lovin'.
Do u remember the night someone forgot to hook the scoreboard in place in Buffalo
Just nitpicking here, but shouldn't Aaron Ward get an assist on Axelsson's empty net goal? I thought he blocked the initial shot. Bergeron picked up the puck and wrapped it around the boards to Axe who put it in...

I didn't think a blocked shot counted as possesion, so I don't think he does get a point...
I've been wrong in the past and would be suprised to be wrong again, however.

You're probably right, but they have been pretty lacksidaisical on giving out assists this season (so I've noticed). Ward blocked the shot and it went to Bergeron...unless they are strict about shot blocks not being assists as well (i.e. if Ward was credited with a shot block on the play, he wouldn't get an assist), I don't see why they would not give it to him.

I thought he should've got one too personally... either way still an awesome game for A. Ward.
