If straka can play vs isles, do we reunite the top line?
if straka can play on monday, do we reunite the top line of
straka-nylander-jagr?
if straka can go id like to keep immo in the lineup because if straka takes a few shifts and then realizes hes in too much pain or gets hit and thats it, id prefer to not be short a center in one of the most important if not the most important game of the year
straka will be needed for goal scoring which we have lacked as of late, letting him play on the wing allows him to focus on offense
id like to see
straka-nylander-jagr
avery-cullen-prucha
hossa-immonen-ortmeyer
hollweg-betts-orr
isbister is the scratch
if these lines dont click then we could always shuffle them come middle of the 2nd period or in the 3rd, but if straka plays, having him play center is very risky considering he is hurt, and i want immo in the lineup

I do not think the former top line of Straka-Nylander-Jagr should be reunited if Straka is ready to go tomorrow. There is no need to put Hossa back on the 3rd line when he is playing the best hockey of his NHL career right now. I think the lines should be:
Hossa-Nylander-Jagr
Avery-Straka-Prucha
Immonen-Cullen-Orts
Hollweg-Betts-Isbister (he actually has played really well recently)
I'd prefer another call-up (such as Dawes or Callahan) and send Immonen back down because the Rangers need more of a winger then a center with Straka coming back.

thoughts?
from what ive been reading it wouldnt surprise me if Straka is done for the year. theyve already acknowledged hes going to need surgery in the offseason to repair the damage in his shoulder, why risk another jagr like year by having him play with an injury that could hamper him for all of next year. wait till he is ready enough that that isnt a risk (maybe last 5-10 games?) or just put him on the IR for the rest of the year and call someone up.
Well...we know the Islanders are going to put whit on Jagr the whole game, I dont know if Hossa can draw enough attention to get Jagr open... Maybe putting Avery on that line instead of Hossa, but I just don't think the Jagr-nylander-straka will be good against the islanders the way they have whit riding jagr everytime the two teams meet.
hossa finished the game yesterday on the 3rd line with immonen and prucha, while isbister was promoted to the top line and the 2nd line was avery-cullen-ortmeyer
i like hossa in the top 6 as well, but if they should play straka i dont think he should be taking faceoffs and i want him to focus on offense because we need goals

somehow, i dont think sean avery is gonna intimidate brendan witt.
eh maybe not intimidate, but possibly get Witt off his game. I don't know if i'd be for putting Avery on a line with Jagr, but it could knock Witt off his game.
If there is one thing Hossa has shown, its that he can take advantage of the space he gets on the ice by being on Jagr's line. Keep Hossa-Nylander-Jagr together, and I think Hossa could have a very solid game.
I think its time Avery be used as a center when and if Straka comes back. Straka is more effective offensively as a winger.

Witt has drawn as many penalties as Avery. He isn't easy to be taken off his game. He has calmed down tremendously, and is taking punches to the face and whacks on a daily basis drawing penalties. Secondly I highly doubt Avery is intimidating Witt, lastly Asham is going to take care of Avery.
Hossa needs Jags, everytime he's bumped for a shift on a different line whether it's because they're coming off a PP or a PK and Hossa is out there w/ someone else, he fades away to nothing.
Jags needs to tell Renney to "keep my boy by my side"
I would hardly call a spear standing up to him..Let's get one thing straight, Avery wants no part of witt, and will probably have a go with Asham....Good luck on that one, Asham is probably the best middleweight in the league.

Agreed, didn't see that before but Witt seemed to be having fun with Avery as his rag doll. I hope he doesn't do that in these upcoming games.
