Well we knew it was coming. If there is one thing we can expect from officials, it's to call even penalties no matter how sloppy one team is playing and how straight another is playing. Consistancy in their inconsistancy.

Ok, so what's the Thrasher's record when leading after 2?

I'll predict today's Kaiton's Corner question: "What is a hockey stick?"

No, no. "What exactly are those pieces of tree that players hold?".

Pretty good questions today. Although compared to "what is the point of a face-off," any question looks good.

If Chuck Kaiton were commissioner, we'd be on NBC EVERY weekend!

The Panthers' game earlier this year where we scored six goals in the third period was nice.

What the hell happened to their offense for the past 10 games or so?

Anson Carter was our big trade deadline deal that would give us the push we needed to make the playoffs.

Unlike last year, this team always throws up at gut check time.

Apparently they've decided they want to play Buffalo in the first round or just not make the playoffs.

Can Staal go a game without taking a bad penalty?

K, well what about the even strength offense? That's non-existant as well.

He has been worth what we gave up for him. That's all i'll say about that. Dead weight on the roster but at least we didn't overpay for his services.

Better point, at least we didn't go out and get anybody else. Even if they came in lighting it up it wouldn't have made a hill of beans considering 80% of the roster is already planning their summer vacation.

You would think Carolina would come out and empty the tank considering the long layoff they're about to get. Guess not.

I wasn't knocking Carter. I was saying that the Hurricanes' decision to sit on their hands while other teams made BIG deals has made a bad situation worse.

how fitting. we're going to have to score on the PP to tie/win.

This has been the most disappointing part of the season for me.

As much as this loss hurts though, I don't mind so much if they win the games that they should. Such as the next three after a nice long rest. Atlanta was at home and just as motivated to win this game, so they should have won.

O'Marra, Nillson, and a 1st for Ryan Smyth. Would you have been willing to deal Andrew Ladd, Anton Babchuk, and a 1st for Ryan Smyth, Keith Tkachuk, or Bill Guerin? I know I wouldn't have with what this team has shown us this year.

I think Rutherford made a smart move by not adding more talent to a roster already too talented to be playing as poor as they have been. You have to have a good feel on your team to understand when an addition that may cost you your future is to be executed, and my confidence in this squad is at an all time low.
