Why is the Oilers board unique?

Why is it only you guys who use the term "outscorer"?

because you can't say that two guys are equal when one guy is playing 0.0800 opposition and the other is only playing 0.0600 .... geez

Because Oilers fans are the only people who have to find ways to justify paying 6 million for our best player - therefor outscoring and pts/60 MINs ES etc. are stats that Oiler Board members have jimmied up to rationalize salary expectations for Smyth.

Because Oil fans whom know a thing or two of what a valuable player brings to a team such as the Oil have to explain to posters such as Walsh through detailed statitics. Other than just scoring goals, which Smyth is quite capable of doing, and setting-up assists to amount 90 - 100 point seasons is only justifiable for a 5million/season contract. In otherwords, Walsh undervalues the quality Smyth brings to the Oil.

Outscorer is a lot easier to type than "guy who scores more goals and contributes to more goals than the opposition (difficult opposition) at even strength while often not getting massive counting numbers due to limited powerplay time."

We're lazy.

Why? Does our unique idiom make TheDakkster feel like and outsider? We are many and diverse here: outporter, outstrippers of sands black, I am, occassionally, an outposter of things bizarrely inane. So worry not, TheDakkster your handle's double "K" and suffix (bolded for noters) includes you with distinct re... honour, into this collective of part-time poster elites. We many who willingly choose to be outsmarter then our team's Owners & Managers.

We're cakewalkers, all, especially when our worth is questioned. But being a irrepressible hoper, a daydream believer, I fervor for a time when our Owners, of that team of mostly gamers, currently Copper & Bluer, that these the Owners of the remaining clubbers, will become outstanding Outspender$.

OYLer your posts should come with a disclaimer, something to the effect of, " Do not try and read this post while hungover " would do just fine.

The use of such stats came far before the Smyth trade. Adjusting for context, and focusing on goal differential as opposed to counting stats gives a far better evaluation of a player. Ignoring such factors could lead one to think that Doug Weight was as good a player as Ryan Smyth.

English is a growing language and it is often just the matter of usage of a word before it becomes a real word.
