Keith Jones interview from the Freep

(borrowed from RWC thread)
http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...703040664/1053

the guy is honest and very insightful as far as hockey broadcasters go; he tells it like it is, and doesn't care whose toes he steps on...
'they've got all the pieces' says 'probably not' to me, when asked if Detroit could get to the Finals; and his Williams opinion hits the nail on the head (except he's not even a 'good' player to me.)

Quote:
Q: What did you think about Detroit trading Jason Williams for the Flyers' Kyle Calder?

A: Guys like Jason Williams are good players, but they are not tough to play against. Williams is a highly skilled player, but the thing that stands out is Game 6 against Edmonton. The Wings are up, 2-0, after the second, and Williams kept cross-checking the Oilers player in the back and gets an undisciplined penalty. Edmonton went on the power play and made it 2-1. The crowd got back into the game. Instead of Detroit coming back home for Game 7 and winning and getting to the Cup finals, Edmonton wins the game and makes it to the Stanley Cup finals. It's the one thing I'll never forget.
other thoughts on Jonesy's... thoughts?

He's right.
Hope Calder is better in this aspect of the game.
