OT: The Rise And Fall (?) of The Mutaytor

This will interest those of you who miss/hated/loved the tribal drum intro of Mutaytor at Kings home games earlier this season. At least we now know WHY the music stopped.
Here's a "pull" to give you reason enough to register for the full article:

NBC's "Dateline," in another installment of its sordid and successful "To Catch a Predator" series, rolled tape on the latest batch of vermin lured to an obscure Long Beach residence with online promises of sex with (fictitious) young teens.

Caught in "Dateline's" on-camera haul was musician Matty Nash, the percussionist-founder of L.A. techno-funk-rock circus the Mutaytor

Genius post from a guy who started a thread called "What Is Your Favorite Colour?". Hey, I called it OT. This was the band that played a live intro at every Kings home game until strangely, they just stopped around a month ago. If you're not into it, move along and save two word posts for the other site.

Awesome find. We were just talking about someone on this board getting caught by "To Catch a Predator" the other day on a GDT. I can't remember who it was though, maybe CBGB or PSP. I have no idea what live intro you are talking about, but I love this thread anyways.

Actually, Mutaytor was the 2005-06 season. Graciously, they were not asked to "perform" at Kings games at all this season. They went away as did the idiot with the flag planting and sweaty guy with the multiple t-shirts on his back.

Now if only the panda express match game and the card sharks would bite it... not to mention the harpoon guns that shoot twinkies into Lindsey Ridgeway's mouth at every commercial break.

I was the one mentioned in the GDT about 10 days ago because mentioned that I coach a U14 girls soccer team (that my daughter is on).

Just to be clear, I have not been CONVICTED of anything - yet

Do you even go to Kings games anymore? The Mutaytor hasn't played at Staples Center at all this season.

I guess the pick-up line "I play drums at Kings Games" didn't go over so well with legal aged women .

Meanie. Yes, I do. That was my mistake. It was about 3:00 AM when I wrote that and my timeline was very badly fouled up. The Mutaytor is long gone but not forgotten.

That guy was seriously creepy. The first time he came into our section, I thought he was some kind of mentally unstable homeless guy

I know Gary Glitter's had his share of legal problems. Is this the reason you no longer hear "Rock and Roll Part II" at hockey games? That song was instant adrenaline.

Do they still play, "I love LA"? (I have only gone to one game this season)

That is tired.

Apparently they even play that song in international play. (NHL 07)

They've been playing it recently. 3rd goal I believe on the Preds this weekend.

I get sucked into the song on the first "hey" and then remember who did it and look for my seat. Sometimes I say a second "hey" but quietly.
