SJ just made a nice selection picking NICK PETRECKI. I was hoping we could paskage and Immonen and maybe a rachunek for another #1 and select this kid. I just love the intense look in that kid's eye walking to stage, that plus he's the kind of tough as nails defensive prospect we need.

I was really hoping for it too, but I can't complain about this draft thus far

So it's safe to say you're disappointed?

I had a feeling that Nash was going to be one of those late risers that end up in the first round. Turns out that 17 wouldn't have been that high at all.

Oh well, one day the Rangers will draft a Cornell player. And it's not like I can complain, I love the Cherepanov pick.

No, I liked those 3 the best, and I still do. I expected Cherepanov to fall but not this far. I actually wasn't aware of how talented Cherepanov was. I kinda didn't want a Russian, who might not come over, and I didn't think he was physical enough. I didnt read up about him as I didn't think he would be there for the Rangers, and for whatever reason he just didn't intriuge me. I am very happy with this pick.

see, im wondering what these gms were smoking if they felt this was even an issue. he has gone public saying he wants to honor this year of his contract (shows character imho) then will leave for the NHL. Omsk knows this, and i believe they have given him their blessing in leaving.

so heres a kid, who WANTS to come to the NHL, how exactly is this a big deal when it comes to drafting him?

imho, i wouldnt have had any qualms taking him first overall.

Wow... Brad Phillips lasted until the 7th round?? Would have been nice to have grabbed him with our 6th.

The Rangers acquired an extra 2006 5th rounder last year (Zaborsky) and had to give up a 2007 4th rounder.
