Great idea

I know this year's draft is not that good BUT would all three of our 1st round picks land us a 1st or 2nd overall selection?

Maybe throw in Pisani or a second tier prospect to get the deal done.

No it wouldnt at best we would get the 4th overall

AND the 4th would not land us Kane/Cherepanov/Alzner so i would settle with Vorecek but the Oray of getting Cherepanov or Alzner and Kane is killing me

If we can make it to 5th, there's a chance we could win the lottery and get first though!

Bad idea. This is a weak draft at the top. There are no Crosby's or Ovechkin's.

I read an article today here in Philly suggesting the Flyers should trade down to snag a defenseman so it might be possible.

Face it we do not link to the pen's who seem to land the 1st and 2nd overall pick in the past 5 years

I bet some how the pen's swindle their way into being able to pick in the top 10 and by a long shot be entered into the lottery

This guy suggests trading Pisani (and our picks) for a higher draft prospect and nobody blinks an eye. This place is ****ed.

Alzner is good enough to go #1. Dont think philly will risk dropping down too much especially when its our turn to pick.. by the time we get to pick @ 7-10 both Alzner and Ellerby might be gone.

I'm not so sure about that, everything I've read makes it sound like Philly is almost a lock to draft Turris with their pick.

@ your avatar. But please no fowards from the Q. I could get 100 points there even if I lost a leg.

Alzner

Maybe throw in Pisani or a second tier prospect to get the deal done.

This should be called: "Not so great idea"

3 1sts and Pisani for a #1 draft pick? I'm pretty sure we could get a Lecavalier type player for that in the right circumstances.

We could trade 1 or 2 in a package for a top player, maybe a defenceman, but otherwise we're going to have a top 7 pick already. If the Oilers were smart, they put extra effort into scouting this season knowing they had two 1sts from the beginning of the season. I'm sure they are drooling all over themselves to draft a few guys. There are always players drafted later in the 1st round who turn out to be stars.

LOL 3x1st and Pisani could probably have gotten us 1st overall 2 years ago when someone called Sidney went #1

You're almost as crazy as the guy that started this thread. Look up what Lindros landed Quebec. Thats a beginning.

I'll admit, that was a crazy response, but I found your second comment ignorant.

All three of our 1st-rounders itself is much more valuable than the 1st overall pick in this draft. I hope everyone realizes that this year's draft doesn't have the Staal's/Johnson's/Crosby's that have made the past few years' drafts. Anyone from 1-15 could be the best player in the draft, and everyone from 15-40 could be solid NHL players. There's no clear-cut #1 in this draft, and no guaranteed all-stars. Heck, the 3-4 months leading up to the draft could see Esposito shoot back up to 1 and see Cherepanov drop to 20...anything's possible. Philly would easily give up it's 1st overall pick if they could get ours and the Islanders picks. It's not that hard to acquire a top-5 pick in such a draft. Recall Ruslan Fedotenko going to the Islanders from Phillly for what would eventually become Joni Pitkanen at the #3 pick.

Not this year. If Crosby was coming out this year, I would give up all three 1sts, Stoll, and Lupul to get him.

Yeah, I agree with those who say that this is not a good idea. I think our chances of landing a good player/better players are much better with the 3 picks then the one, especially given that this is a "deep" draft.
