06-07 Oilers Roster

Hemsky Lecavalier Jagr/Hartnell

Torres Stoll Lupul

Schremp O'Marra Nilson

Moreau Reasoner Pouliot

Smith Timmonen

Staios Greene

Grebeskov Smid

Roloson
JDD

The Oilers could afford this roster because they dump Pisani,Horcoff, and dont resign the impending UFAs. Jagr might not be affordable so we could sign hartnell but I thought Jagr would be affordable because of his 4.9m salary for two years. In the mean time the young players could learn off the elite players.

Mine from the other thread. Call it overpayment if you want, but screw it. Sometimes you have to swing for the fences.

Stoll + Lupul + Greene + Winny + NYI 1st round pick
for
Pitkanen + Philly 1st round pick (Turris) + prospect(s)

Sign Hartnell + Preissing
Draft Esposito with Edmonton 1st round pick

Hartnell Horcoff Hemsky
Torres Pouliot Pisani
Moreau Reasoner Thor
JFJ Brodziak Nilsson

O'Mara/Schremp

Pitkanen Preissing
Staois Smid
Greshekov Gator

Gilbert/Roy

Roloson
Backstrom

In the system (The Second Coming):
Turris
Esposito
Cogliano
Schremp
Nilsson
O'Mara
Roy
Gilbert
Syvret
Dubnyk
Anaheim 1st rounder

etc.

That team you are putting on the ice would be only good for 2 or 3 goals a game. I want to hear where these 5 goals a game would come from considering the forwards we had this season can't even score that.

More like 10-1 and 12-2 scores. That lineup wouldn't be able to stop goals against, and wouldn't have a chance in hell at scoring.

I'm a little surprised at all the people expecting Timonen to hit F. agnecy. Nashville would be nuts to let him get away.

Whitney - Horcoff - Hemsky
Torres - Stoll - Hartnell
Lupul - Schremp - Nillson
Moreau - Pouliot - Pisani

Timmonen - Smith
Smid - Salo
Staios - Greene

I would also consider a solid run at Rick Jackman from Ana, and Scott Hannan or Drury( why not)

Shouldn't the title read the "07-08 Oilers Roster"?

I think we all know the 06-07, or current, Oilers roster.

Smyth/Hartnell(UFA) - Stoll - Hemsky

Nilsson - Schremp - Lupul

Moreau - Reasoner - Pisani

Jacques - Pouliot - Stortini

Salo(UFA) - Bouwmeester(trade)

Staios - Smith

Smid - Gilbert

Roloson
Deslauriers

Where did Torres and Horcoff go?

Torres + Horcoff + Oilers 1st round pick/07.

-----For-----

Bouwmeester

Florida is very weak at the LW position. Their center position has no depth.

Seeing how the Oil are re-building, I'd rather see the top prospects get more of a shot and get more icetime.

well people clearly love hartnell, he is in every on of these posts, well exept perhaps one. Any way, enough teams that don't fit under the cap, this team isn't even close. My team

Smyth(5.4) horc (3.6) hemmer (4.1)
Torres (1.2) stoll ( 2.2) pisani (2.5)
moreau (2.0) pouliot (.9) lupul (2.3)
Shremp(.9) O marra(.8) Nillson (.8) (that is a odd 4th line, but hey out side the box)

Rafalski (6.0) Smith (1.9)
Stios (2.7) Smid (.8)
Greene (1) Grebeskov (.7)

Roli (3.6)
JDD (.7)

Budget of 44 mill of course you would have to fill out the 23 man roster with three more players. pick any three that will get .6 mill or so, which would make the budget almost 46.

ps, we really need to stop talking about timmonen, Nash will resign him, however as a result Zidlicky could be available through trade, I think he would be awsome, he is a steal at 3.5 mill.

My trades if Philly is not willing to deal Pitkanen. You can call them overpayment, but I think at some point we will be forced to pony up if we want something significant.

Stoll for Seabrook

Lupul + Torres + Moreau + Greene + NYI 1st rounder
for
Horton + Van Ryn + prospect

Sign Hartnell (UFA). Minor signings in Gelinas (UFA) + Backstrom (UFA).

Hartnell Horcoff Hemsky
Pisani Pouliot Horton
Thor Reasoner Gelinas
JFJ Brodziak Nilsson

Van Ryn Smid
Staois Seabrook
Grebshekov Gator

Roloson
Backstrom

Note in this case I would sign Hartnell to 4 years at $4.5 mill/per, Horton for 5 years at $5 mill per, and Seabrook at $2 mill for 3 years.

I thought it was agreed that Mikhanov is a bust and is not coming back? I don't see a lot of scoring from the original list given

Ched was saying that next year the oilers will only use about 42-43mill of the cap. Hartnell wll get between 3.5 and 4mill and who did you trade Roloson to and what did you get in return?
