Is it me...

or does the MSG have the worst production values of any network you have ever watched? The persistent audio problems and reoccuring loss of picture has become quite irratating.

Yup, horrible. I also don't understand why they still don't show every game in HD when pretty much ever other hockey broadcast does

I can't complain. I remember watching games on CH. 9, on a 13 inch black@white TV, with rabbit ear antenae with tin foil assistors, to try to keep the "snow" to a minimun. I thank the hockey gods every game-night, for MSG and DirecTV.

They have problems very often, but i must say they do a very good job with other things like interviews, replays, and graphics.

They've been the best with replays for years IMO.

I'm pretty sure it's just the downsampling from the HD feed that makes it look like crap. Everyone I've ever spoken to who watches the games on HD loves it.

Really? In my opinion MSG has some of the best picture quality offered around the league. The only teams that surpass them are feeds based out of Toronto and Edmonton.

Not sure what you guys are talking about. I just watched the game on MSG HD and it was AMAZING. Top notch production value.

I think part of it may also be how it translates to your cable company. Where I used to live, MSG was always superior. When I moved, I noticed a stark contrast to the quality of FSN on my new cable system, but MSG was also still very good.

yeah, its a shame too because Joe Micheletti and Sam Rosen have really grown on me this year.

if they could just keep Fischler and Trautwig off the damn TV, id be thrilled.

NO!

MSG has pobably the best cameras, staff, and production values of any I've seen. They do tend to have issues when they go remote with MSG2, but really compare when they're on the road to when the Rangers are home, and the difference is huge. No one does it better than MSG IMO, of course they also have more money than most if not any other network covering hockey. (except NBC of course) FSNY is good too, but the two networks are pretty much the same so, I'm not comparing them. Both are owned by CV.

It's you. Spend a night or two scanning Center Ice and you will see that MSG is right at the top of local hockey productions. The point about HD is valid though -- I've noiticed this not only with MSG but also with other carriers throughout the year. I wish my cable operator would/could upgrade Center Ice to HD.

I kinda think it's this too. Whenever the Rangers play at CAA the Devils feed seems to look better and AFAIK they use the same cameras - just produce it differently.

MSG (on TWC at least) has just about the worst quality picture of any channel in the lineup. It's really that bad imo. MSG-HD, however, is quite good. Maybe not the best HD available, but very good.

Yeah, I don't have HD. Surprisingly it's not as popular in Canada as it is in the States...yet.

In terms of regular broadcasts I can hardly stand to watch FSN games. They're horrible.
