Over/Under on Dubinsky's ice time?

For the majority of this season, we have seen Renney and his staff reluctant to give the youngsters quality ice time. In the beginning of the year, Nigel Dawes was with the big club for a handfull of games before being sent down to Hartford. Petr Prucha was misused by being stuck on the 4th line with no power play time. Finally Girardi being the only exception so far has taken the ball and ran with it.

Sam's blog stated that Dubinsky will be centering a line of Straka and Isbister. Assumming that Renney leaves him between the two before demoting him to the 4th line or pine pony, anybody have an idea of how much ice he will get? I'm going out on a limb to say about 13:40 as the starting point. Thoughts?

i'de go with about 9. Demotion to the fourth with Colton and Holly after Betts regains his deserved 2nd line center role halfway through the first

I think he'll be right around that over/under mark. Perhaps closer to 12 mins. And 12 mins i'd have no problem with. Think that would be nice.

Think it depends on how they start off the game. If he and Straka and Isbister can do some good things early on, that ice time could very well be over 15 mins.

This is the type of thread I would think that JOrts would start.

Hopefully, Brandon should play as much as he actually can without being a liability. This is a kid who is playing his first NHL game. Let's complain about his icetime when he shows he's ready for bigtime minutes.

Girardi has shown the ability to handle more minutes and has been awarded icetime and gametime situations accordingly.

Let's not start complaining before the kid has ever worn a Ranger jersey (especially in a very important, late season Ranger/Islander game).

I'll say about 12-15. Possibly more depending on how the game goes. I mean Renney has to get Straka out there at least 15, and if they stay on the same line then it should mean more for Dubi.

I'm not complaining about anything. It is just an open discussion given the . I'd love to see him have success just as much as anyone else. I personally think it is a very intriguing topic just because of how he's being thrown right into the mix with Straka and Isbister on the 2nd line. Had he been dropped onto the 4th line between Hollweg and Orr you wouldn't have heard a peep out of me.

I bet Betts centres Straka and Dubinsky with orr and Hollweg. We all know how Renney changes things at last minute.

I'm gonna take the under and assume no pp time or pk time.

Prob like 11 mins-13mins tops.

Though, if he looks good early they might throw him on the second unit of the Power Play in which case 13:24

He will get about 6 minutes. He'll get his first shift with Straka and Isbister, then numbnuts Renney will move Betts there and Dubinsky will end up as a spectator.

who is he playing with

edit: oh, if he is starting the game on the second line its impossible to tell if it will be 15 mins or 6 mins because the lines may be juggled.

If they wanna win, Over.

If they wanna lose, Under.

I'm going with Under.

is it possible to have one thread where everyone can whine about the young players ice time?

and at no point did Prucha have his PP time cut completely. behind Jagr, Nylander, Straka and Shanahan he's next in PP time per game for forwards.

If I were coach: Obviously it would be based on his play and how the game goes, but I'd sorta target for 12-14 minutes as long as there are no glaring problems.

With Renney coach: I predict 7:42
