Cujo, you're slipping...

Tonight marks the return of both Dom and Mikael Samuelsson. Were I Babcock, I'd put Sammy on the fourth line with Ellis and Bootland to get back in the game gradually. But that's me.

I have to say happy birthday to my great nephew Tristan...he's 15 today. Happy B-day Tris, and here's hoping the Wings win it for you!

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!

TWO MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

Overview:
F Michael Cammalleri, who played college hockey at Michigan in 1999-2002, leads the Kings in assists (40) and points (67) and is second in goals (27). He has four goals and four assists in eight career games against the Wings. Ellis missed practice because his wife gave birth to their first child -- 6-pound, 14-ounce Matthew Hayden Ellis -- Wednesday night. "Every time he talks about it, he just starts smiling," Babcock said. "I've never seen him so nervous for a hockey game as Tuesday night. It was because he was getting to be a dad the next day." Teammate Darryl Bootland was excited for Ellis. He and Ellis have played together the past nine seasons, with the Toronto St. Michael's of the Ontario Hockey League, the Toledo Storm in 2002-03 and the Grand Rapids Griffins from 2003-04 to this season

Wings finally score again, Garon has made about 40 stops... 2-2. (I can't get it on TV, so I'm probably behind in time) but Sportsline says 5 to go.

Burke is in goal for the Kings...

It was only a matter of time before the wings scored to tie it up. 45 SOG so far. I have full confidence that the Kings will find a way to blow it before the end of regulation.

Pretty goal by Lebda though. He was looking like Bobby Orr on that one.

Too fancy hockey by the Wings, nobody standing on the net on PP etc... Lang and Datsyuk played too fancy pancy...

The shots on net were not that good by the Wings. You have to want enough those wins. Its all about character. Kronwall was the weakest link in this game.

Thanks... blame Sportsline, they have it listed as Garon

Wings win in OT! (Samuelsson), or was it someone else.

That was some coast to coast by Borat. Speed kills. Honestly, Lebda has gotta be one of the fastest skaters in the league. He's unbelievably fast.

Pretty ugly game for the first 2 periods...and against the worst team in the league to boot....

Hasek looked a little rusty with his rebound control, but he also made some big stops. We've been saying this all year - but one has to wonder how his "cough a couple up early and then lock it down late" pattern is going to play out in the playoffs.

What a rush by my man Borat. Tonight, 29 other teams watching Sportscenter are jealous as hell that they don't have this guy locked up for 3 more years at a hair above the minimum. He's not a lockdown defender, but for a dirt cheap 5th defenseman, he's about as good as it gets.

Anyone else see Hudler's play where the puck was about 5 feet from him and he did that Looney Tunes "scramble in mid-air without moving" thing? Ouch. That is Exhibit A for why he's never going to be a top scorer. No size + no wheels = mediocre at best.

Datsyuk is having a really hard time generating offense without Zetterberg. He's still getting a point in each game, but most of the time, you can really see how rough the sledding is for him with nobody to take the pressure off.

I'll admit it, I thought Lilja played very well in this game. A couple of big hits, and he actually made a few good pinches that resulted in good chances. And no major mistakes that I saw. The blind squirrel has found himself a nut. We'll see if he ever finds another.

And for that matter, we'll see if Kronwall ever takes a shot that doesn't hit the glass. I don't know if he's aiming for corners, squeezing the stick, or if his shot just sucks, but man, he couldn't hit **** if he fell in the toilet. And he had another awful giveaway / charity goal for the Kings. Not a good sign. He really hasn't progressed at all this season. Very troubling.

Brett Lebda going Bobby Orr on Burke... priceless.

Seems to have been a pretty mediocre effort by the Wings for long stretches hmm... but still 2 pts in the bag, and some savers by Hasek.
