We're back in good shape... pundits couting the Rangers out

Last year, we were predicted to be one of the worst teams in the league and surprised everyone. This year, we were predicted by many to be on eof the best teams in the division and we floundered. Well guess what? Terry Frei practically counts us out in his article about the best playoff goalies.

This isn't a knock on Henrik Lundqvist as much as it is an acknowledgment that the Rangers are the longest shot of this group to even make the playoffs. But he, indeed, was terrible in the first round last season.
Let's not forget that Lundqvist was still injured then, but I'm content to ignore that. I'm just glad someone is counting us out.

Side-note, he puts Brodeur at #1... I have a lot of respect for Brodeur's talent, but isn't his playoff OT record sub-.500?

Hah, yeah I read that too. Doesn't he rank the isles like 8 and the hurricanes somewhere around there with the thrashes like top 5? Too lazy to double check but I think thats fairly accurate. Whata fool.

Yeah, saw that a bit earlier as well. Still don't fully understand the point of the article. Shouldn't the point be to rank the goalies as far as their expected playoff performances are concerned? If so, why is he holding the Rangers steeper odds of making the playoffs against Henrik? I just don't get what he's doing. I mean, let's say the Devils were in our position right now. Does anyone really think that Brodeur would be listed in the 19th spot in the rankings?

The more the experts count us out the better I like our chances.

I guess Terry Frei missed the Olympics. Christ, one mediocre playoff series and he's the worst.

Why rank the goaltenders if you're going to factor their teams into the equation?

As far as I'm concerned the Rangers goaltending sits 10th on that list.
