With the "Mighty" Oil clearly out of the playoffs, I was wondering how many of you will still be watching the playoffs and who you will be cheering for.
In addition to the ABC's of hockey (Anybody but Calgary), I know I'll be cheering on the Penguins. In addition to having an exciting team, their fans have lived through some ugly hockey, face the threat of their team re-locating, and share a farm team with our club. I see them as our hockey twin city (with more exciting young players).
Why shouldn't we cheer for Vancouver? We owe it to Dolemite.
That said I'll keep an eye on the Pens and the Isles.
I'm not going to cheer for Vancouver but I won't actively cheer against them like I would in a typical year. It's hard not to have a little grudging respect for the Canucks this year, they're a team full of guys who play hard every night. It's been said a million times but the more I see them play, the more I think of the Flames the year before the lockout.
