Thought: Looking over old statistics, Doug Gilmour was clearly the most offensive force the Toronto Maple Leafs have ever seen in the playoffs.

I doubt anyone would turn down Gilmour in his prime, but I wasn't thinking about how much he would help us now so much as reflecting upon just how good he was in the playoffs.

He is clearly the best playoff forward the leafs have ever seen statistically... which is all the more impressive given some of the HOF'ers that have seen time in a Leafs jersey.

Thought #3: I still find it interesting that the Leafs gameday threads are consistently smaller then that have other teams that are close to or comparable overall board traffic.

Thought #4: Looking over their board it seems Rangers fans definitely dislike the refs more then any other teams fans.
Whether that's deserved or not I can't say as I don't regularly watch the NYR.

Maybe because everyone can always catch Leafs games on TV and fans of other teams use the boards for gamenight info?

Thought #5: That's a remarkably obvious answer that I should have realized weeks ago given all the discussions on the NHL Talk board about excessive Leafs TV Coverage.

Thought #6: I'm beginning to irritate even myself with these incessant thoughts provoked by 'Gilmour's Way' post.

Up by a goal after the 2nd period, just need to hold on one more period and our stellar record gets better.

Boston and Ottawa are tied at 2.

NJ is leading Philly 1-0... wouldn't mind if that held out, puts us a touch closer to the conference/NHL overall lead.

It's been FAR FAR too long since I've regularly seen comments like this from opposing fans when they face the Leafs-

Quote:
This would be a nice way to make up for the Montreal letdown, but predicting a win against the Leafs is a pretty strong statement. My confidence just isn't strong enough with these guys yet to think they can take out this Toronto club that's been on fire as of late.
Always nice to know that there are some out there that legitimately worry when their favored teams comes up against Toronto

Only if something is broken. I was worried at first he hurt his knee or something...but he took a shot off the inside of his shin/ankle somewhere. Shouldn't be *too* bad, hopefully...
