In my opinion its pathetic, I concede a lot of rookies have had to fill in due to injuries and are playing NHL time when they otherwise would be riding the bus, but there seems to be very little in terms of a breakout rookie or offensive skill in the double digit greenhorns who we've started this year.
Too many rookie games where unnoticeable. MAP look like he can take a spot from Reasoner, Smid looks like tobe a servicable D man and Stortini can fill a hole but tom me that's it.
I'm gonna keep banging the same drum, if Lowe doesn't get 4-5 vet forwards signed or traded for this summer next year is a gong show.
How many of those games are by defensemen? Petersen has played 140 games in the nhl, played 79 with pittsburgh one year, no way he is a rookie, and really neither is Greene. I agree it hasn't been pretty, but most of our rookies have been getting 8-10 minutes a night on the 4th line, your not gonna get much production out of rookies playing that much ice time on a 4th line on any team, especially on the Oilers where as a hole the team is completely offensively inept.
