The game is actually tommorow night(game day thread my arse! :p ). As for goalies, I haven't heard/read anything yet, but I'm assuming that Cloutier won't be ready, could be a gameday descision though...

Good question, I wish I knew too.

My guess (which is often wrong) is that since Hedberg's wrist is sprained but not really bad, then I'd say Auld in net with Hedberg being backup.

It's hard to make a prediction b/c you just never know which Canucks' team will show up. If they played like they played the other night against the Avs, then they should win with ease.

Problem is, the Canucks seem to need more of a motivational factor than getting 2 points to get them serious about playing the game. Carolina is an eastcoast team and there's no bad blood between the two teams so the Canucks might be really flat.

One thing that the 'Nucks might want to keep in mind though is that Colorado is playing tonight and if they win or tie the Flames then they're ahead of the 'Nucks in the standings.

Prediction:

'Nucks 4
'Canes 2

He's a 'Canes fan so I'm sure he knows that the game is tomorrow night. I just don't want to talk about the Avs any more okay?

OT: Go and check out the Devil's board GDT for the Philly home and home games. Wow, our GDT's are soooo much more civilized! Those Devils/Flyers fans are NASTY to each other: "white trash"? I wish they were showing that game on TV today instead of the Leafs/Rangers one.

Oh yeah, while you're over there you might as well check out the pretty lady thread. And here I thought the thread was introducing female posters from the Devil's board. Obviously I couldn't appreciate the thread at all. :

The big question: who will mecca13 be cheering for? The Canucks or THE FUTURE?

"It's too bad the fans ran him out of town and Burke caved into the pressure to trade him."

That's not the way I remember it. I thought there was something like a late arrival at a practice, followed by a story about a stolen wallet (or something along those lines). In the end there was a retreat on the theft story.

From what I understood of the situation, it sounded like Burke had some serious questions about Weekes' character.

I don't remember huge pressure from the fans to trade Weekes. That's not to say there wasn't grumbling. But, compared to the heat on Cloutier, I'd say the fans were barely getting warmed up.

5-0 Canucks, Weeks gets yanked after the 1st

May gets all 5 goals and someone wins the safeway score and win contest on the spac.

I say Canucks 4-2. Bertuzzi breaks out in the goal department.

Hopefully the Canucks come off a strong performance against the Avs and just wax them, then again that would be a shocker of how we have played against lesser teams.

In all it will be a good day of watching OUA against Canada and then Carolina against Vancouver, another cloudy winter day for me to sit on my arse.

I wasn't bashing him, I just meant that I liked the Weeks' avatars much better than the one you have now... at least that's what I meant to say. And I don't think the 'future' title you have under your current avatar fits the pic but that's none of my business so I'll shut up now. :p

Good luck tonight guys. Should be an entertaining game. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see this one go to overtime.

"Do I think Kevin Weeks will fulfil the promise that I predicted for him? Yes. Do I feel he's the answer right now? No. I don't think this team can wait. Our goal is to make the playoffs."
Burke must be your very close friend, if you have such intimate knowledge of the why's and why not's of his particular moves. And to think the rest of us just have to speculate... The whole Burke caves to pressure statement seems pretty hopefull to me. Sounds more like the coaching staff and Burke didn't like Weeks and so traded him. Hardly an unusual situation in the sporting arena don't you think? It's nice that you are such a big fan, but I don't recall reading much from any Kevin Weeks bashers ... perhaps you are suffering a little of Kevins paranoia

Let's hope the Nucks bring the same kind of effort they showed in the Avs game. 5- 2 Canucks.

It all depends on Weekes. He will be the difference in the game.

Ya, Weekes will have to be on his game. I like Erik Cole and Joseph Vasicek on their team....very good young players with size and skill. O'Neil needs to play up to how he can though

BCTV reported that Johan Hedberg re-aggravated his jammed wrist and will not be starting for the Canucks tonight, meaning that Alexander Auld will be called upon once again to go between the pipes for the Canucks. While I have full confidence in Bauldy Auldy, it's pretty sad for poor Hedberg. He finally gets an opportunity to play a string of games, and he gets hurt.
