Sutter

i must admit all the changes Sutter has made have been very good.. Getting Warrener/ Reinprecht for Drury, excellent move
Kiprusoff- looks like a great move.
acquiring Shean Donavan
drafting Phaneuf and Ramholt looks positive, time will tell..

i had my doubts regarding Sutter as a Gm, but he has done some very good moves. even when the flames begin to struggle, i will still say these are great moves.. this team is playing with a lot of character. i am not conseding a playoff spot yet, but this is the best flames team in terms of depth in the past 7 years, not saying much, but they are on the right track... if he could get someone to take Turek, he would be a god. cant see it

A nomination is possible if the Flames season continues the way it has and results in a playoff appearance. However, Reg is speaking about Sutter with his GM hat on (I'm being a little picky, I know), whereas the Jack Adams award is for Coach of the Year, is it not?

I think having Al MacNeil as a special assistant really helps too. He can also help Sutter by sorta 'sharing the workload'

I like what he's done so far....but we shall see.

While Button was the GM at the time, Sutter was already pretty much calling the shots, and definitly had a say in Donovan

Have to agree that Sutter has done an excellent job. Only two things I disagree with. At the time of the Kiprusoof trade I thought that Sutter gave up too high of a draft pick for him (most Sharks fans thought they would get about 4th rounder back) but the trade has certainly paid off and more. Also, I wasn't too happy when Sutter traded the second of the two second round picks we had in last years draft for a bunch of lower picks (quantity over quality), especially when a guy like O'Sullivan was still on the board as well as some other talented scorers who dropped. But that deal might also turn out alright as well as it looks like Greg Moore and Jamie Tardiff are having good seasons.
