OILERS TO WATCH: Petr Sykora hasn’t picked up a point in the last seven games for the Oilers but he had some chances on Friday in Anaheim, firing five shots on goal… Keep an eye on the team’s defence again. Ladislav Smid, Matt Greene and Jason Smith logged the majority of minutes on Friday and did fairly well. Danny Syvret also logged a lot of minutes on Friday (a career high 23:14) but with a touch of the flu tonight that may be scaled back slightly.

SHARKS TO WATCH: Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has found his game again after struggling earlier this season, almost out of necessity due to a Vesa Toskala injury. Nabokov broke a franchise record for shutout minutes last game, going 166:07 without allowing a goal until Vancouver’s Taylor Pyatt scored in the third period… Patrick Marleau leads the Sharks with 30 goals but last game snapped a six-game scoreless drought interrupted by injury. He hasn’t had more than one shot on goal in nine games but that goal against Vancouver just might be the catalyst to get his game back on track now that he’s healthy and ready to go.

My first game day thread and hopefully it brings the Oilers luck. Under 2 hours till game time.

So i bet 500 on the sharks, hoping for the whole reverse phycology, karma thing to kick in. So 9-0 Oilers:

Torres (3)
Lupul (2)
Horcoff
MAP
Brodziak
Peterson (OMG)

I tried that against the Ducks. It, uhhh, didn't work.

That said, I'll be pissed off no matter what happens. I hate when the Oil lose, but if we win it will hurt the dive for the top five.
Bummer.

Are the Oilers bringing anyone else up for todays game? Is Nilsson being called up?

Not yet as the Oilers are still appealing to the NHL to allow them to call up a forward so they can move TP to defense.

This is what the lines were according to CBS Sportsline.

Raffi Torres, Shawn Horcoff, Kyle Brodziak.
JF Jacques, Petr Sykora, Joffrey Lupul.
Brad Winchester, Marc Pouliot, Fernando Pisani.
(No winger available), Brad Winchester, Zack Stortini.

Man, I really hope MacT doesn't take Peterson away from the Sykora Lupul line, they have been absolute dynomite since united, on a side note, I hope he never re-unites the Winny-Reasoner-Thoreson line, as they were only our best line for most of their games together.

Worst. LWers. Ever.
I'm actually not kidding, that's probably the most horrendous set of wingers in history, an expansion team would have a better line up.

82-3 Edmonton, Petersen ends up -4.

Put me down for a loss tonight, San Jose can be a tough team to be when we are icing a full line-up, let alone our current line-up, I'm hoping for huge blowouts until MacT is gone
