Gonna go with Souray here. Him and Kaberle on the PP would be deadly.

I figured we were saving Aki for the all-NHL team?

Its pretty obvious. They are both good and may be on the same level in their own zone and Kaberle is a little bit better then Markov offensivly. Its not a knock on Markov he is a great d-man but Kaberle is better.

I think the same thing. Maybe Markov is a little bit better defensively (well, most likely) but Kaberle is better offensively. It's very close, but Kaberle's got the edge imo.

I really don't see what Markov's knock is offensively. Is it because he has to pass it to Sheldon Souray on the PP? Is it because he doesn't have Mats Sundin with whom to distribute the puck? It's obviously not a big deal seeing as they'll be 1-2 but I fail to see what Kabby has really done that Markov hasn't given what Markov has had to work with over his career.

Yeah I agree. Although, if we went by offensive poduction by number of nhl games played it is much closer...

Kaberle's first 443, played 590 through 8 seasons in total, games and 6 seasons he avg'ed 0.5 points a game. While in Markovs first 400, actually only 399, games and 6 seasons he so far avg'es 0.49.

Kaberle only broke out to become the top 10 defenseman he is last, his 7th, season. After playing almost 450 games.

Defensemen develop slower, and Markov is still getting better imo.

My point being it's not fair comeparing them 2 as they obviously do not have the same amount of experience in the NHL. I also predict Markov to break out next season and keeps up with Kaberle in terms of point production.

Voted Markov, but if I was building a line up I would put Souray over there.

And Kaberle should have been there before Markov.

Speaking of Markov, I voted him, but I probably should have voted Souray next based on pairing Souray with Kaberle to compliment each other.

I think Kaberle and Markov on the same pairing would be awful, but there's no question that Markov is the 2nd best defenseman among them all.

Ultimately you'd likely see Kaberle-McCabe and Markov-Souray, or Kaberle-Souray and Markov-McCabe

me too

I would be scared to see the Souray-McCabe duo that we'll probably see in this game...

Dude I know you love Markov but it's hard to not vote for Kaberle.IMO he is a bit more mature then Markov and his decisions with the puck are a bit better

I don't really get the Markov>Kaberle talk. Kaberle is pretty clearly the better dman right now to me. No slight against Markov, I love the guy, but Kaberle just does more things better right now.

As for pairings, it seems we're just doing this as BPA, so I went with Markov. Although I do agree that a Kaberle/McCabe Markov/Souray type of top 4 would probably work better.

Funny thing is, Kubina is actually Toronto's 2nd best defenseman by my estimations. Maybe we'll end up with McCabe-Komisarek on the last pairing.

I wouldnt take both McCabe an Souray on my team. And I always voted by BPA so after we can make better line, same thing with forward.
