He better get AT LEAST season + playoffs. No room anywhere in hockey for the kind of **** that ******* pulled tonight.

I'm ashamed he was once on our team and I'm sure Islanders fans feel the same way right now.

We do, I actually started liking him, now I hope garth makes getting rid of him his top priority this offseason. He should be suspended for the rest of the season, playoffs included. That was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in sports. Not to mention a stupid play.

40-80 games for this. The guy is a coward and this was sickening to watch he could have killed him

I'm going to say the rest of the regular season. I really wanted to see Colton Orr come over and punch Simon in the face after that. That's just reprehensible, and one of the reasons people don't take hockey seriously.

That stick could have crushed his larynx, what a horrible play. His teamates should kick his @ss! He cost them the game.

How many did Orr get earlier in the year?
Just add 2-3 games to that.

Agree. On both statements. I had such high respect for him from his stint on Broadway... he has such a great game but he chooses to shoot himself in the foot every few years. 10 might be the low end, I can see the rest of the regular season but not playoffs. Just my hunch.

Probably 10-15 games. Hollweg didn't go to the hospital, and also Colin Campbell is still bitter about his ass being fired.

He's going to get slayed by the league. That was a pretty bad play. It wasn't the texas chainsaw massacre, but the league doesn't like bad pub and this, my friends, is bad pub.

Should be the rest of the season and playoffs. Sorry, the league has to make an example of this.

listen orr got 5 for what he did to Ovechkin, which wasn't 1/10 as bad as what Simon did, but Colin hates the Rangers and Hollweig so and I can see maybe a 1 game if we are lucky. If he gets 5 or less that trulyshow you the hatred for the Rangers though. I think that is just as bad as the Mcsorley thing on Brashear

Hollweg was lucky to get hit on the chin, that's all I can say. If he got hit in the neck it could have been really bad. If higher on the face/head, missing teeth, broken nose, broken cheek bone, Concussion, etc. Very lucky to get hit on the chin. Thank God he's ok.

10 games, but should be more, you can really see the intent to injure on his face on the replay. Also he uses a metal stick

i think Joe Micheletti said it best. the hit could have killed Hollweg. a full on chop to the throat could have collapsed his wind pipe making him suffocate to death. any hit that could actually kill someone, should be a season long penalty. if its accidental, or in the natural progression of the game or even within the rules. i can look past it. but he could have KILLED ryan. id suspend him indefinitely. to me this is 10x worse than bertuzzi or mcsorley. only difference is the player who got hit wasnt seriously hurt.

Lost in all this furor is that this was Hollweg's best play of the year by slamming that ******* Simon...Won the game and SImon should be gone for awhile...

More seriously, that was as cowardly and dangerous an act as they come, 10 to 15 games,

My thoughts exactly, Why did simon have to chop him so high, It really did look like he was chopping down a tree, Thats not even a cross check, which is part of the game, It really boggles my mind, Simon would have been better off droping his gloves and beating Ryan down, No match Penalty and just a 2 min. Instigator

I wouldn't say it's ay worse than McSorley or Bertuzzi, but that's like saying that Pacman Jones isn't any worse than Lawrence Phillips.
