GDT - 'Canes v Panthers

The 'Canes need to make this one foot put to help tie down a playoff spot.

Thanks for the GDT. was hoping for one, but too busy to make one. I don't quite understand your post... but we could definately use a big win here.

Ouch. Letowski really got away with one there. Follow-through or not, he needs to control the stick better.

Hideous high stick by Letowski goes without being called. Sickening. His second of the game. Dress Anson Carter. 6 minutes of penalties, should have been, from him alone in that period.

A one foot put in golf is a gimmie.

If the 'Canes can't steal a easy win against a lack luster Florida team, they have no right being in the post season.

The 'Canes will win.

In the ECHL, South Carolina scored against Florida on their first shot-on-goal. Not a great start for Justin Peters.

Ugly first period. We have a 1-0 lead, but we looked terrible on the ice. John Grahame continues to make the routine look spectacular, in a bad way.

That's just his style. It's very hard to watch sometimes, but I guess we just have to deal with it.

We started the game with Cole / Staal / Stillman and by the end of the period it had already shifted to Whitney / Staal / Williams. We'll never find consistency at this rate.

It was also funny to see Cory Stillman once again involved in a collision with one of his own teammates in essentially the same place on the ice.

I thought the Canes looked ok with some great forechecking and cycle down low... but we cannot get any dangerous looking shot on net. We need forwards in Belfour's face. The powerplay is still, hum, bad.

Among the 6 defensemen, Tanabe is 6th for TOI in the first. He usually is 1st, so that is nice to see.

He's one gaffe away from being Anton Babchuk's water boy.

That and Craig Kowalski is one ugly mofo. If you could keep pucks out of the net with ugly, Kowalski should start every game down the stretch.

The Hurricanes are totally flat so far this period. Now Kaberle takes a penalty.

John Grahame really needs to control his rebounds.

Oh, I believe it's a "putt" that's why I was confused!

And I don't think it's a gimme when FL is hot in their last 10.

That sucks, he really put all of his frustration behind that shot.

Our players put better hits on their teammates than they do the other team.

I'd like to see how a goalie is involved in a mid-ice collision.
