Miller Not Given a Fair Chance

Lindy Ruff is not giving Ryan Miller a fair chance. He needs to let Miller start more than one game in a row. He will NEVER get a chance to shine by playing a game here and a game there. He needs to play a stretch of games to get into a groove. I believe, in terms of pure talent, Ryan's the best goalie we have. I'm starting (or I should say continuing) to think Lindy has no idea how to manage this goalie situation, or this team.

Reminds me of how Mika Noronen was handled the last couple of year's before this season.

If this team's goal wasn't to make the playoffs this year, then I think Miller would be getting into more games.

But, the team can't afford to keep playing Miller if the team isn't going to show up in front of him and get blown out of games.

And where is the blame for Regier in all of this? It seems to me that the GM is the one that has final say so on call ups.

He is being jerked around. A player needs to know that he can play more than 1 game without being sent back to Rochester. Ruff has played him more than one game in a row. His best game was the first game of the year.

And it is the GM who makes that decision.

Miller may be the best goalie of the lot that the Sabres have but if the guy is going to be crying or near tears every time he gets beat maybe he might not be ready for the big show just yet. When a guy is near tears because pucks are flying past him there is obviously a problem!!!

He wasn't near tears. He was pissed off. Not too different from Grant Fuhr calling the fans "jerks." And we all know how Fuhr turned out.

If that's the case, that's fine but i read on two seperate occassions,on line, that he was near tears both times he had the net filled on him against theIslanders and Wings. If it was just a matter of him being pissed than that's not a bad thing at all and it's shows he actually gives a s***. As far as the comparison to Fuhr,i'm sure the Sabres hope you're right.

Try retaining sheer anger to fake a calm state and see what you get. A cracking voice that makes you sound like you're near tears.

IMO Miller is not ready for the NHL and should be spending the year in Rochester.

The way the Sabres are playing, his confidence would be shot very quickly esp. if the team can't score for him. Good way to ruin a young goaltender by rushing him in when he's not ready.

Good article on Miller from the D and C.
No shortage of confidence, which is good.

Based on what? Three games? You can't tell anything from three games. His confidence is not lacking. He was left out to dry by his teammates and he's the one who took the blame, pointing out he could have stopped every shot.
