One Year Ago

What a wild 12 months it's been. A year ago the team was sucking wind, limping into the playoffs, and not scaring anyone after torching the regular season. This year after a mediocre/poor 2/3 the season, the boys have really peaked at the right time. Not counting my chickens or anything, but this team has me believing that IF we make the playoffs we can match up against many teams.

I've officially entered my "cautiously optimistic" phase of the season.

i agree, with the way our defense is playing right now, we can match up with anyone. Also our offense has evened out, we dont have 1 or 2 guys doing all of the work. Great defense + Great Goalie + Even offense = Stanley cup!

I'd like to see them finish the season strong and get healthy before I judge how good they look.

I think it's a little too early to get excited with like 5 teams still on our back. I think with Shanny back now this team is even more unenergized though, and it would be one hell of a sad story if we didn't make the playoffs.

Oh yeh, and uh... Lundqvist has been pretty decent

There's still plenty of time to suddenly drop the last six games of the season...

That's why I said "cautiously" optimistic. I know we can all be doomsayers about this team, but I do have comfort in they way they are playing. Shanny and Avery will keep them focuses on the game at hand, and not get caught up being in sweventh.

I will say this: I attended last year's season finale against...the Debbies? The WHOLE arena knew they were going to lose, and they did. There's just something a bit different about this team, and I think a lot of it has to do with the adversity this team has dealt with in the past 20 games.

Rodent has been keeping tabs on our mathematical playoff chances.

At the trade deadline, we were like 15% likely to make the playoffs.

Currently, we are 68% likely to make the playoffs.

Thats one hell of a turnaround in the past month.

Keep the wins coming!
