Flyers Home and Home with the Lil Debbies

well if the first game was an indicator of things to see this week-end, we should all be in for a treat. I can't imagine how banged up both teams will be on Saturday and I imagine it will be a lot more defensive than the first game. I can't wait for the physical battles. I'm hoping to see Brash and Fridge pummel Stevens and White all week-end long. We need to let them know that this isn't the Flyers team they beat in the Eastern Conference Finals a couple of years ago, but a revamped team looking to take control of the EAST. 1 of the 2 games is bound to end up a tie, and i'm guessing that'll be the Home game, but the game in Jersey is anyone's for the taking.

Predictions:

Phi 3 NJ 2 in Jersey

Phi 2 NJ 2 in Philly

These games are going to be awesome. It's our biggest test this year. We are at the top. We need to beat the Devils once to stay there. It's time for the boys to show everyone we are the real deal this year. I think the guys know this. They would be brain dead if they didn't. I think the guys are ready. Last night, they didn't give up at all. They haven't given up in any games so far. Hackett has come up big for us.
I don't see tomorrow as a time for things to change. The second game will be f**king awesome because I will be there in Section 221 of the Wacko Center, baby! I also know some Debbie fans that are coming to the game. Hope they don't get their ***** whooped like one of their other Debbie fans did. We also have the home winning streak to defend. The boys play great with us behind them. I see a win on Saturday and Friday for that matter. I don't see them losing. It's our game to lose. We can win. We have the talent. We just have to use it properly.

It's time for the East to have a new Sheriff, the Flyers.

BIG... HUGE test for us this weekend!
For this weekend to be a sucess we need 3 of 4 points.
A split is aceptable, but I think a win and a tie is what we'll get.
This is going to be tough, look at our past 2 weeks, and we are a tired team.
If we could only muster a goal against Freddy B, Wed nite, how will we fair against the best in the league?

I wish Langenbrunner, Madden and White would all be healthy for this series. You guys may get a taste of the future goaltender of the devils. Ahonen was called up and many think he will get a start in one of the games.

I say bring on Brodeur. Beating the devils without Brodeur is meaningless.

Won't happen. It will be Marty vs. Hackett in both games, unless one of them gets injured.

Brathwaite is a streaky goalie. Very good and very bad. Brodeur is of course very good, but what separates the two is Marty's consistency and stamina, not necessarily how well they play at peak performance.

Marty will start both games, he will probably sit after this weekend against the Islanders who I think will play three more times before the new year.

The only way Ahonen would play in either game this weekend is if Brodeur is hurt,(which he's not) or Marty just does not feel like playing, which is rediculous. Ahonen was called up as a back up to Marty because Cory Scwab is out with a groin pull.
With two huge games looming, there is no way Pat Burns would put the backup in net.

This has all the makings of 2 1-1 ties. If any team scored 3 in any game, not counting empty netters i will be shocked.

Please tell me you didn't just imply that Brathwaite's peak performance is comperable to Marty Brodeur's.

I don't think he implied that, if you can read, but I'm implying that Brodeur is going down this weekend. Whatcha gonna say about that?

Last year this time your squad was also leading the Atlantic Division,
and this years until we are officially de-throwned we are still the Big Bad boys on the block.

Consider tomorrow night your dethrowning ceremony.

*** Hackett... We're paying that sieve $3 mil'? What the hell for? That game should have been a 3-1 win... I hope Esche is back soon, because we found our new back-up goalie...

It's funny, you guys have the golaie, and we have the team, and one golaer is enough to beat a whole team. He obviously saved your butts again this week-end, but hey you guys won and that's the bottom line.
See you in the Eastern Conference Finals (if we don't meet Ottawa)
