WJC: M.A. Bernier and Adam Courchaine cut

from tsn.ca:

12/14/2003

KITCHENER, Ont. (CP) - The Canadian junior hockey team released defenceman Andre Benoit, goaltender Maxime Daigneault and forwards Marc-Andre Bernier, Eric Fehr and Adam Courchaine on Sunday.

Too bad...the only 2 players there with Vancouver connections (Courchaine plays for the Giants).

Bernier I don't know enough about other than he's a Canuck prospect...

Courchaine, he's overrated, and in my opinion did not deserve to be a the camp to begin with!

Bernier will have a chance to make the team next season. Too bad though, I was hoping we'd be able to watch him this year...

Next year Guenette and Bernier both have a really good chance of making it.

Bernier is a poor skater and would not do well on a big surface. Really a very poor propsect for the NHL.

In all fairness Jason King isn't exactly a proven all-star yet.

Umberger's too old, he's 21 right now and this is a U-20 tourney.

Bernier looks slow cause he is big.

Back in 2001/2002 he won fastest skater at the Mooseheads skills comp. He was 16 then.

Big guys always look slow.

Gunner is 84 born, which makes him 19 this year. He wont be eligible next year.

6'4 200 lb 18 year olds who have an NHL shot are poor prospects....sure.

I follow the Giants and Courchaine should have not even been invited. I was surprized that Bernier was one of the first to get cut. I thought he was going to make the team.
