not much...shows how badly this team needs a center who can win draws.

i dont have anyone else to put there...i guess you could put Dubinsky there, but ive said for a while now, the kid needs to develop more before id like to see him in the NHL (Despite his marvelous play)

That would pretty much be my choice as well. Looks awesome on paper if you ask me

You put Dubi on the 4th line and get 8 min for the game?

I go with exactly those lines inferno. I think the top 3 have a good combination of speed, grit, playmaking and finishing. I'd like to have Dubi on the fourth line but it's better for him to be getting minutes with the Pack. Also, I'd rather have Baranka up rather than Malik, but I understand why that won't happen.

Hossa-Nylander-Jagr (big scoring)
Callahan-Straka-Shanahan (crash the net and control the puck)
Avery-Cullen-Prucha (speed speed speed)
Hollweg-Betts-Ortmeyer (energy)

Prucha needs to not be on a line with Shanahan. I personally think that's why he had a bad start to the season. One sniper per line should do enough. Three lines with totally different looks.

All I can say is that if this team could ever get completely healthy...wow. They look scary.

BTW, Just to point something out to you guys who say there is no youth movement in NY (Numbers in bold are age)(Numbers in red are guys OVER 30):

Hossa(25) - Straka(34) - Jagr(35)

Avery(26) - Nylander(34) - Shanahan(38)

Prucha(24) - Cullen(30) - Callahan(21)

Hollweg(23) - Betts(27) - Ortmeyer(28)

Tyutin(23) - Girardi(22)

Rachunek(27) - Mara(27)

Rozsival(28) - Malik(31)

Lundqvist(25)

Team Average Age: 27 (That's with a 38 year old Shanny too).

Only 5players OVER 30 years old. Our two best defensemen are under 23 years old. Our rearguard as a whole is very young. Our goalie is 25.

Would have to go:

Hossa Straka Jagr
Avery Nylander Shanahan
Prucha Cullen Callahan
Hollweg Betts Ortmeyer

Malik Rozsival
Tyutin Girardi
Rach Mara

Think Avery and Shanahan should remain together and Nylander just seemed to work really well with those two before Shanny got hurt.

Avery - Nylander - Shanahan (I trust this line more in big spots i.e tough playoff hockey)
Hossa - Straka - Jagr
Prucha - Cullen - Callahan/Ortmeyer
Hollweg - Betts - Ortmeyer/Orr

re Orr: we may very well see a team that dresses Janssen, Laraque, Andre Roy/Shane O'Brien or Chris Neil every game so depending on the opponent, I put that option in there

Tyutin - Girardi
Rachunek - Mara
Rozsival - Liffiton (I know it will be Malik but i hate him)

Some physical play, great penalty killing, blocking shots, defensively reliable, a lot discipline, knows his role, puts the team before himself. What else do you want a 4th line center to bring?

I like these lines. The frontline has incredible shooting ability in Jagr, Hossa and Straka, and Hossa ws just starting to show that he could be a playmaker, he may compliment Jagr well. The second line has an OCD passer with a great shot, another great shot in Shanny, and Avery who will throw the puck at the net but also stand in front of the net for rebounds/deflections/screening. The 3rd line is just a group of hard nosed workers, Prucha loves rebound, Cally can handle himself, isn't afraid to shoot and hopefully can score. And Cullen is becoming one of my favorite Rangers, he attacks the puck and the net and never gives up, great line. Finally the fourth line brings plenty of energy and grit, which could lead to momentum swings or leveling the playing field to a physical team (although the third line can be very physical also). Like someone mentioned earlier, bring back Orr when teams with an enforcer or fighter are plyed.

The defense, If I could rule the world, would be similar. BUT I'd toss Malik for Liffy, and Rosival for Staal (next season). That would look good for next season, however, for this season this will work.
