What Type of Player Do You Describe Yourself As?

If you play hockey (ice, roller, floor, any type of hockey), what type of player do you describe yourself as? (finesse forward, power forward, defensive specialist forward, etc.).

I'm a defenseman, and I'm more of a stay-at-home defenseman right now. I'm able to carry the puck a little, and I can make somewhat decent passes, but my shot is nothing special, but not horrible from the blueline. I'm working on adding offense to my game, but right now, I'm just a positionally sound defenseman. I'm pretty much Jon Klemm-esque.

I am definately a Kovalev-esque player. Can pull out huge dekes and has an amazing shot. I am, however, lazy at times and not very physical for a 6'1 player in midget AAA.

Goalie
Ice Hockey- Very quick and agile on my skates, but sometimes caught out of position due to overpursing the puck trying to get the angle cut...Look alot like MA Fleury due to that being the way I've tried to learn goaltending on ice with speed coming before anything I guess.

Inline- Right now, just terrible, no other way to really explain it...haha....Once I get on track, I'm still very agile, and am very quick with the legs, catcher and blocker, but the skating is different then ice, and no sliding, so i'm a bit slower. I also won't lie, I'm pretty lazy at times, which I've got to fix, sometimes causes some problems with consistency. Still that partial Fleury/------?

Power Forward with good hands. Take abuse in front of the net and get tips/deflections and rebounds. Maybe 1 of every 5 goals is
a nice one. Too slow to play effective defense, but not fast enough to cherry pick on offense.

I'm a goalie. I don't know how I'd describe myself, Sean Burke-type I guess. We have height in our favor, although I'm a weak skater and can be beat on my upper glove hand side.

Skater-decent skater, fiesty forechecker with some skill
Goalie-Use to be good, then did not play goalie for a while, now im a sieve at goalie, just about everything for me is good for me, but my 5-hole I allow 90% of my goals five hole

Shot blocking defenseman who can't skate well.

I'm the only guy in my rec league who blocks shots. People give me looks that say "Buddy, it's a rec league, you don't have to block shots", when really I do it out of boredom.

Stay at home defenseman in a D level men's league. I don't care about scoring goals, I just care about not getting scored upon. I try to make good passes and I try to keep my shots low and on the net.

I used to be kind of a goon but I've calmed down as of late. Still, I don't like to see players that think they can get away with anything out there.

Hard working, grinding forward with decent hands.

I play a lot like a Jarret Stoll or Raffi Torres. Gritty with a good shot (for a girl) and a great backchecker.

I like to dictact the pace of the play like a Chris Pronger (I also play defense, yes I double shift) and play the point on the PP and do PK.

I have good hockey sense, decent skating skills and decent hands. I'm never the star, but I'm usually first or second line. I like to pass versus shoot most of the time and I try to make the players around me better.

As somebody once said, "I'm a counter-attacker by nature, not a pre-emptive strike man."

Roughing aside, I skate low to the ground for long, powerful strides and right wing breakouts. My speed helps me drop back to defence when needed (ie, when the other team gets the breaks), too.

Some people want to play hockey without learning to skate properly first, I enjoy (well, not always!) the discipline and learning aspect of skating - mastering the techniques slowly with lots of practice sessions on my own. But in a game, I aim for flat out speed.

I play mostly like Mike Ribeiro. Playmaking center that explodes on impact.

Goon.

Well, one with (so I'm told) very soft hands and an exelent playmaker. My job however is to beat the piss out of the other team.

I'd describe myself as a Matt Cooke/Ville Neimenen agitator.

The people I play against would describe me as a dirty little *******.

I guess I'm a Draper type guy. Really good defensively, decent offensively, above average skater, hard worker, aggressive and physical.

Ice - I am a speedy winger with decent hands, great skating ability. Not very physical although now that I gained 40 pounds to bring me to 175 I'm slowly bringing a physical aspect to my game. I have a sniper wrist shot, not a great slap shot but everynow and then it looks good. To sum it up, I am a breakaway specialist.

Inline - Pretty much the same as ice only I try to be a little more flashy.

My biggest positive is my breakaways. When I get them, I burry them. Very rarely do I miss on a breakaway. I have been told I can make goalies look silly.

I'd say Scott Stevens. Too bad we can't hit in our league, I crave the contact regularly.

No one ever tells me I have 'soft hands' or am a 'good skater'. They just stare at me and shake their head when I get on the bench after blocking shots. I stopped wearing a face cage too. I'm gonna get hurt, bad.

Am I the only guy who blocks shots on a casual level? You guys have any shot blockers in your rec leagues?

Scott Gomez - short, stocky forward with some grit. Crafty with puck and looks to set up teammates.

I was told I play similar to Bourque, but more physical. Obviously at a MUCH lower level.

Me too. But in my case, they were referring to Phil Bourque, not Ray.

My cat plays mouse goalie like a champ. He's got a glove paw like Tony Esposito in his prime!

I'm a high energy guy, who has a decent shot, decent pass, ok moves, and good wheels. I play both ways-- can't really think of anyone who has done that cept for Mathieu Dandenault and Sergei Fedorov. But I'm a 2-way winger, and a balanced d-man. I personally like playing wing just so I can be more aggressive and get a chance to use my wheels more often.

I play Defense, but im definitely a offensive defenseman. I played offense for 10 years and just switched over to D in my adult league. Love to carry the puck up ice from my goal line since my top speed is pretty fast (not so much my acceleration though) and Im a very good stick handler so I can usually easily gain the other teams offensive zone. My shot is always on net but sometimes I flub the shot (I need to calm down a bit when I get the puck on my stick, I usually rush to get the shot off)

Im not THAT great at the actual defense part yet (I am respectable but I do make mistakes), I just finished my first year back there so im getting better.

I'm the Koltsov of inline...I can skate for days, but that's about it. Handling the puck is like a grenade. I usually just chip it in the corner and go grind on the boards where I feel at home. Decent wrist shot, hard but wild slapper....not an offensive dynamo by any means. I am however a good defensive forward, but that's mainly because I'm usually the best skater in the building.
