Mats Naslund goal

Unfortuanately, Naslund was at the tail end of his career in montreal when I first started falling in love with the team, but he's still one of my all time favorites.

Here's a goal showing some of his creativity and talent.

I thought it was fitting to show it now with a big home and home coming up against the bruins... get some good vibes goin....

Good times!

Too bad such goal would never happen in today's NHL unless you are facing Aebischer hehe.

Speaking about good vibes, the first video in the "related" section is the K.O. on Zednik from McLaren.

I think it's very possible that move can happen in today's NHL. It's not like it was an everyday thing back then. Just takes a player with some creativity. He seems to be going behind the net and the goalie is expecting him to go to the otherside which he is, but his stick is still there poking the puck in

That move is similar to the Forsberg breakaway/shootout move. Btw, Foppa said that his move comes from Mats Naslund.

Last hab to hit 100 points, and top point getter in the 1986 stanley cup run (same year I think). Glad to see him get some run on this fansite. My favourite player as a kid, hence the username.

I love the sound of the ''Na na na'' song in the background at the end.

Thanks for that...favorite Hab of all time for me, I'm a little guy who played centre/left wing and loved the Habs and he was my idol...sure he is Steve Sullivan's and Marty St. Louis fav too with their skill and small stature and their #26 on their backs too!

EDIT:
Remember him playing with Mario Lemiuex in the Allstar Game? He had 5 assists that game and Mario had 3 goals and 3 assists, it was awesome!!!

Mots Neslooond, as Claude Quenneville would say on SRC. Le Petit Viking was one of my favs. He made an instant impact in Montreal. Man, I would take Mots today instead of the other midget we signed this summer. What a difference!

Isn't he like a part time Habs scout right now?

When I was a kid playing street hockey, I was always Mats Naslund. Favorite player of the 80s.
