Geez. Miro is on pace for 21g, 12a, that simply won't suffice...I still maintain that the Sabres can make a run for a playoff spot, especially with the resurgence of Dumont, Afinogenov and the steady play of Briere and Drury, but Miro needs to start contributing on a regular basis.

While Satan def has to step up his play, Drury not lighting it up either. Doesn't he have like 1 or 2 goals in 15 games? I know he's playing well and he's more of a playmaker, but he's getting paid very well and we need goals from him.

Very true, but he's not a soft, worthless floater when he's not registering on the scorecard...

The Buffalo Sabres and struggling winger Miroslav Satan have discussed the option of a trade. Neither side, however, seems to think that's the answer at the moment.

"When you talk about these types of things you talk about options," Regier said. "You talk about - not just with Miro, but other players as well - "Well, maybe I need a change.' "Those conversations do take place, but at the end of it he wants to play his way out of the situation."

Satan declined to speak with the media after Monday's practice in HSBC Arena.

"I thought he needed to put more passion into the game in a sense of competing down low and winning battles, getting more on the inside in the game. I thought he did that in the last game. There have been touches of that in the last several games. So we're going to build on that and go forward."

Satan has made the steady descent from the first line to the fourth, which means he's playing with grunts Eric Boulton and Chris Taylor. It's hardly fair. How can Ruff expect maximum production from Boulton and Taylor when they have Satan on their line?

I dont think Miro's trade value ever decreased. Not all Gms are really stupid. Miro over his career is a proven point getter. He has been streaky in the past. Any team who wants a legit sniper and wants to take on his contract will offer the same things they would have offered 2 weeks ago (if he is now out of his slump).. IMO

Satan could do good things for us, but he might be part of a major shakeup needed. trade him for a Glen murray/Bondra/Sykora figure, package Satan with whatever needed to complete the deal.

tho he is playing well with Brown adn drury.

How many goalscorers in today's NHL aren't streaky?

1 or 2 at most I'd say.
