Objective FANTASY Opinion on Harding..?

Given the Wilds defensive system, i cant decide on how high to take Harding, i want him, but i dunno how much he'll play next year, i know Manny is expensive and Backstrom is a UFA...How much PT do you expect from him? Sorry if its been beat to death, Im a ducks fan in the middle of a draft so...

I was looking at rd 3 for Harding, as i dont intend on really competing next year, but the year after...

1. If we let Backstrom go, Manny will be our #1 goalie and Harding will be the backup.

2. If we sign Backstrom and trade Manny, Hards will be the backup.

3. If we let Backstrom go and Manny is kidnapped by aliens, Hards will be da man.

4. If we sign Backstrom and trade Manny but aliens kidnap Backstrom, Hards will be da man.

3 & 4 are unlikely. So in fantasy hockey, I would strongly advise against drafting Harding.

I'm not big on comparing goalies as they're all so different. First, he's a southpaw and has a quick glove hand. Second and this is probably because his in the MN system, he's very sound positionally ... that's Bob Mason's influence. He's a butterfly, but so far I've not seen him drop to early giving away the top corners. Basically, he's just very solid all around.

Is this a keeper league?

I currently have him in a keeper league, and I plan on holding him over for next year. We have league of 12, each get to keep 12. I've really been up and down on this decision for a while. However, I think that Harding's upside is just too great. Injuries happen, and he will get his shot sooner or later - and based on everything we've seen from him, he's going to be a superstar. His potential is just too great for me to pass up. However, if this isn't a keeper league, I wouldn't even consider him next year until near the last rounds. -Z

I'd grab him early then, esp if goaltending is hard to come by. I think he's the best goaltender the Wild have right now, the only knock against him is his age. What, he gets a shutout every other game or something when he starts?
