This is one of the rare times you see both fan bases (of the teams involved in a game) cheering on 1 team.

Having just watched Edmonton/Vancouver it will be extremely important for Colorado to come out and play their best hockey early. Do NOT give Edmonton any hope at the beginning of the game. If the Avs can score early and first on the Oilers it will make the game tremendously easier.

I have a really bad feeling about this game.

Though I'm almost never right. Hopefully we'll have the same sense of urgency this game as we've had the last few games. Without the effort the team has been putting in lately, it doesn't matter if we're playing a full NHL squad, or an AHL team featuring a few NHL veterans, we're going to lose.

its not that hard to step up against Vancouver. Sanford makes it look like a cakewalk

I'm thinking of Borat for some reason when I read that. We can "crush [them]" haha. At least I make myself laugh

Big game tonight (as if the last 34 or so haven't been.) As always, this is a must win. I just wish this kinda mentality would start in say October.

Prediction: 4-3 AVs.

Workin' hard to get my fill
Everyone wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time...

Don't stop believin'
Hold on that feelin'

I love this time of year! I just wish we had as much play-off certainty as we did cost-certainty in the New NHL.

BTW....Any news on the lineups? Whose sitting for us? I'd like to see Parker get some more action tonight. I noticed Svatos hitting a bit in our last game...How about:

Parker-Guite-Svatos on the fourth? It certainly adds a little dangerous scoring ability there. Parker can't keep up but Guite is showing good faceoff skills and Svatos is dangerous if he gets a quick pass off a faceoff in the offensive zone or if he gets a break away or good outlet pass.

Bruno-Joe-Wolski
McLean/Richie-Paul-Hejduk
Lappy-Tyler-Richie/McLean
Parker-Guite-Svatos

I kinda hate sitting Rycroft but if I want Parker in the lineup someone has to go watch the game instead of playing it.

I agree about playing Parker, he needs more time. Still think he may sit out though

And don't forget that Steve Staios is out having knee surgery. The Oilers couldn't give away this kind of luck.

Go Avs

I'd say. Jason Smith and 5 randoms. I know, some of the names are familiar, but man...that is not an NHL caliber defense. No excuses for losing this game.

I saw a breakdown on a Oiler blog of the roster from the Cup finals last season to this current group. The differences were stagaring.

Please beat us the both games this week. We get a better draft position and Calgary has a chance of missing the playoffs. Which would be a wonderful thing. Go Avs Go

We basically have 50% of our team from the AHL (endless injuries) so this should not be too difficult for you. We have an extremely inexperienced young D corps (we even have a draft pick from Junior playing on emergency call up ). Hopefully we have some guys back for the last game of the season against the Flames and then we can finish them off for you to the end the season.
