Dear Habmaniac,
Did you know that, not only are we 2 points back of Tampa, but only 4 points back of the slumping Atlanta.

Sincerely,

Mitchell

Jim Dowd is keeping the Devils in the game with his 2nd and 3rd of the year....3-3 is the score.

2 weeks left and there's just about every playoff scenario you could imagine left!

1. Buffalo-Toronto/NY Isles/Montreal/Carolina/NY Rangers/Tampa Bay/Atlanta
2. New Jersey/Pittsburgh-same as above
3-Atlanta/Tampa-same as above minus Atl and TB of course
4-New Jersey/Pittsburgh/Ottawa-Ottawa/New Jersey/Pittsburgh

The win is great and all but something is pissing me off still...Damn Carbonneau and his stupid lines!! The Plekanec line is working because of 3 talented guys working togheter why cant he leave Kovalev with Ryder and Koivu? When they are togheter they always make something happen. If we want to make the playoffs this change is inevitable.

Uh yeah, but Tampa is more catchable at the moment. Worst thing would be for both teams to make it. It's hard enough now considering the teams ahead of us and behind us are still in this thing for sure.

That'd be nice considering we'd draw one of Tampa or Atlanta. And we've had ok games vs. those 2 teams this year. Both teams have questionable D and the Lightning are carried by 1 helluva line, but 1 line nonetheless. No easy task but a lot easier than facing Pittsburgh, Buffalo or (gasp) New Jersey!

He really should've put Kovalev instead of Streit to start the third, considering Kovalev's great game to that point. Streit, as much as I like him, was practically invisible all night.

But still, kinda tough to criticize a win. We got it done, bottom line.

The whole team played well tonight. The defence was solid, Halak was great and the players didn't take much penalities.

Let's just crush the Rangers in the next game and we take a serious option for the playoffs.

GO SENS!
Hanlon coached Grabo, Kosty and the rest of team Belarus at the last 2 World Championships in May.

Good win tonight, didn't like how passive we became in the 3rd though.

I think it will depend on whether the Habs/Halak are winning...if they are, Carbo will stick with the hot hand....he has to.

True we won but i still think that Kovalev and Koivu are the answer for a playoff spot. Lapierre and Begin cant get the puck to kovalev, they are 4th liners. When Carbo is gonna try it hes gonna tell himself "why didnt i try it sooner? We would have a playoff spot by now"

Not necessarily. If Atlanta and TB keep losing and Carolina keeps winning, Carolina may end up in third, with both Atlanta and TB on the outside of the playoffs. If you look at all the teams fighting for the playoffs, the only teams who are losing on a consistent basis are Atlanta and TB. Every other team is winning out. Wouldn't it be interesting if we play Carolina in the first round again?

Halak is still HOT and the guys are playing hard and putting their bodys on the line, that's all that matter right now

Solid all around effort by the habs. Not much more to say.

The schedule has been friendly to us lately. We caught the caps playing 3 games in 4 nights. And we are going to catch the rangers also playing 3 games in 4 nights.

I guess that leaves a slight chance that the habs may not see lundqvist. Again, a SLIGHT chance. And no chance avoiding lundqvist if they lose to the isles on sunday.

lapierre and begin's style of play has essentially forced kovalev to simplify his game. He knows that the best chance for him to get the puck while playing with these guys is to go to the net. And he's being rewarded with goals.

I think Alex starts relying too much on transition plays when he plays with skilled players and it hasn't been working.

When Kevin Weekes is your backup, Lundqvist plays until he needs a wheelchair to get onto the ice I would think. The only way we don't see King Henrik is if he gets hurt tomorrow.

Maybe Dipietro and Lundqvist will collide with one another rushing for a puck at centre ice?
