Who to cheer for?

I know we're not officially out, but I think it's too late.

I'm cheering for Nashville and Buffalo.

If Colorado gets eliminated, and to do otherwise we'd have to beat pretty hopeless odds, I'm going to root for Forsberg.

I don't care for Nashville, but I'll root for the Predators. If they get eliminated I'm done. I'll watch for entertainment purposes, but I can't say I'll be rooting for another team or whatever.

Besides, baseball season starts this Sunday. <_<

I like Tanguay, so who knows..maybe I will cheer for Flames. Preds with Forsberg, Ducks with Giguere..

I predict Dallas will go far this time around. It seems that team solve Turco's choking hazard in the playoff.

I'll pull for San Jose and Calgary.

The former, because I had season tickets for them for a few years. The latter, because I do a lot of business up in Calgary, and I love the city. A few years ago, I was there when they won game 5 in the Finals. Great, great time. I didn't feel well for a week afterwards... :-)

Although usually I just root for the longest overtime games, I think the Thrashers look awful appealing. I NEVER get to see them out West, I'd love to see a Hossa-Kovy duo run and gun their way deep into the franchise's first playoffs ever.

Negative?

Or perhaps he's rooting against rivals like a lot of hockey fans do.

Lighten up.

Those teams losing would be quite the positive.

The only thing I hate about cheering for the underdogs is there fans on here the next season. I cheered for the flames on thurr run...need I say more about there fans the yr after? Same with the sabres last yr.

It's his prerogative as an Avs fan on the Avalanche board.

In fact, I do believe I'll be rooting against Detroit/Vancouver as well. Nothing personal.

You've been on HF long enough to know that that rings true not just in the case of underdogs.

No love for Yelle? The man was every bit the warrior Lemieux and Deadmarsh were for the Avs.

The last time I rooted for a non-Avs NW team was for Roloson, and that was because he was standing on his head against Detroit. After that I followed Edmonton and was cheering heavily for them to win the Cup (once we got knocked out).

I can't cheer for the Flames. Unless they knock out Detroit...then it'll be different. <_<

I love Yelle, don't get me wrong. I'll cheer for him as a player, but I can't support his team. Though I don't dislike the Flames. There are some fantastic Flames fans on HF actually, but still.

One more player I will cheer for:

Anyone who beats the crap out of Sean Avery, Matt Cooke, or Darcy Tucker (if the Leafs make it).

What he said, but I will continue to have hope until we are officially eliminated. Obviously it is a very slim chance, but if we gain 2 points beofre the first head to head, beat Calgary in regulation, gain 2 more points before the last head to head, and then beat them in regulation in the final game we are in.
