Avs need to go 6-0 and Calgary 2-4.

Since the Avs moved to Denver, my pecking order has ALWAYS been 1) Colorado, 2) Tampa, 3) Pittsburgh. After that came whoever was playing against certain teams I simply can't stand, which are currently Detroit, Vancouver, Dallas, New Jersey, and (to a lesser extent) Calgary.

Otherwise, I find myself pulling for teams with a balance of style and players that I really like. (Last year: Carolina and Buffalo; this year, I'll pull for Buffalo (Drury), Nashville (Forsberg), possibly Anaheim, if it comes down to it)

Not saying this is a formula I always start out with, just the way I usually notice it going. For some reason, I can't watch the SCF without heavily favoring one team over the other.

I can't cheer for the Flames. Unless they knock out Detroit...then it'll be different. <_<

I love Yelle, don't get me wrong. I'll cheer for him as a player, but I can't support his team. Though I don't dislike the Flames. There are some fantastic Flames fans on HF actually, but still.
i kind of feel the same way about Sakic. i've never liked the Avs that much and could never cheer for them, but it's impossible not to like big Joe. the amazing display he put on with Iginla in the '02 olympics forever made me a fan of his

just as i start to gain respect for the Canucks as a team (getting rid of most of the idiot players/coach, playing a solid hardworking system) their fans become all the more insufferable
Can you imagine how insufferable they would get if they ever actually won anything?

IF the Avs get eliminated...I want all the teams that could have helped out the Avs eliminated in Round 1...That's right I want Nashville, Detroit and Minnesota all swept out in round 1. Then I want the NW division teams out just cause... Which should leave Anaheim vs San Jose. In which case I wanna see Matt Carle and Joe Thornton do well.

So go go San Jose...and I'll pull for Buffalo and Atlanta in the East.

I think I gotta go for Pitt...they have such a fun style of game, and watching the kids show up the wiley (and sometimes whiny) vets would be fun

Anyone playing Detroit, and to a slightly lesser extent, anyone playing Vancouver.

Until there is that x next to calgary in the standings, i am not giving up hope.

However, by some miracle that the avs don't make it, i am a stars fan since i moved to dallas and i will be rooting for them, i hope turco just doesn;t choke again, i think he won't because they aren't playing the avs first round again. It wasn't the playoffs he was choking for, it was the avs.

I still believe until i see that x.

oh and in the east, i am for:

1 - Buffalo becuase i have been a drury fan since i was a kid
2 - Rangers, i have always liked the rangers
3 - Islanders - i have a friend that likes them and he got me following them

Who will you cheer for in the playoffs?

Since we are eliminated, will any of you jump on another teams bandwagon for the postseason? I think it makes it more fun to watch the playoffs when there is a team you are cheering for.
I'm going with the Sabres, because they, as a franchise, have gone through a lot of crap, and they have a very fun product on the ice this year.

It would be nice to see a talented team like Buffalo go far in the playoffs. They deserve to win the cup, I think.

I'll retirerate:

Look at the bright side, can you imagine if we played Detroit. We'd have an unholy alliance of Cancukleheads and Wingnuts giving us class lectures because we had the temerity to boo Bertuzzi, pearl clutching over the base vulgarity to us the word "suck" in a chant, cowardly drive-by proxy troll links to divealanche, screeching that any penalty was an Avs dive, ignorant posts about Colorado not having hockey before 1996, autofelatary posts about their traditional markets and hockey knowledge, flailing on the main board that they were somehow done an injustice any time Bertuzzi and Moore got mentioned in the same article, tales of their horrible victimization by Lacroix and his pocket book and so much more.

It would be a perfect storm of smug, self-rigteous whining that could possibly rip a hole in the fabric of space and time.

Buffalo. Drury has been my favorite player since he was playing at BU.
