Other games around the league (2006-07) -- Part 2

The other thread exceeded 1000 posts, so I thought we would need a new one.

Carry on.

Minnesota clearly went into "coast" mode last night after clinching a playoff spot. Calgary knows that even with a comfortable margin over Colorado that one loss with a Colorado win puts the pressure back on.

If Vancouver decided to phone it in against the Flames it will really hurt the Avs chances. In addition, the Avs have to take care of business against the Wild, who will come in after getting their arses chewed out by Lemaire.

I think the Calgary game will be a bit of a statement game for the Canucks. Luongo is so competitive he loves playing Kipper.

I really don't think you will see the Nucks lay down.

Frickin Minnesota Mild, on a day the AVS needed them to play hockey like we know they can, they decide to lay back and spot the Flames 2 goals in the 1st minutes of the game.
To add insult to injury they also spot Iginla a hat trick.

Yah ok, I'm reaching, but the Mild clearly did not bring their "A" game in the first 2 periods. And I will be pissed off if they decide to bring it against the AVS on Saturday.
Let's see them spot the AVS the game and a win.

The AVS aren't going to get any help from the other teams, they dug themselves this hole that they're in, and more than likely, even if they wanted to it may be too late to dig themselves out.

But a nice little win streak to the end would cushion the fall a bit. GO AVS!!

Holy crap, they have three fights on the ice right now. Willy Mitchell versus Jerome Iginla...woah

No "Double Dion Whammo" for the Flames tonight.

Salo is a scratch. Concerns about infection, so they'll take it easy.

Naslund had an open net on a wrap-around but unable to bank it in, off a Flames defender's stick. Yelle took out Kipper on the play too.

Flames PP just ends as Lombardi goes in the box, with :30 left.

BTW: Magoo is a ref, so should be an interesting game officiating wise.

Finally a penalty called.

On Vancouver. After Calgary manhandled Linden. On a weak hooking on Naslund.

Well, officiating is fun at least.

Why do I get the feeling that the Flames are gonna win this game 1-0, and that the officiating will continue to be in their favor.

I have the same feeling. I can't believe how terribly biased the officials were. Flames basically mauled Canucks player around and it was Canuck coming with a penalty!
Hey, I was never a Canuck fan, but tonight, I do support the team

I really wish the Avs could have left their destiny in their own hands. That would have made watching these games easier.

God I hate the Nucks. Why does every team have to play like complete crap against the Flames lately? It's like someone bribed them to drop the game or something.
