Hopefully falling just short will give the team a major goal of playing better team defense all year next season instead of for one month. Also, they should have a goal of beating the bad teams.

Colorado's 1-3 record vs. St. Louis, 2-2 vs. Chicago, 1-2-1 vs. Los Angeles, 0-1 vs. Washington and the franchise's first ever regulation loss to Columbus ultimately cost the Avalanche a playoff spot. Their 0-3-1 record vs. Dallas also hurt, but at least the Stars are a playoff squad. The Avs actually played pretty damn well vs. good teams this season, which makes their failures against bad teams even more perplexing.

The 2000-'01 Avalanche had an overwhelming goal to make sure any game 7 was played at the Pepsi Center after what had happened in 1999 and 2000 vs. Dallas. Maybe the 2007-'08 Avalanche will take care of business as well as the '01 Avs did.

What got into them? Remember when they were 10+ points out of a PO spot...and many of us were already looking forward to next season? I'll admit, I was one of them, how could I not be? They were playing like utter *****.
When Giguere held firm on trading deadline, it sent the message that he believed in this team, and they responded. That's what I think.

I totally agree with this post. I think they will be on another Mission.

SJ wins tonight against Anaheim in the SO, which keeps them in the race to win the Pacific Division, so they'll have something to play for tommorow against Calgary. Unfortunately the Flames catch another break and they get to play a team that played the night before. Hopefully SJ can eek out a win for us somehow.

Oiler fan here,

I really really wish the best for you guys. Although our rival, I never hated you guys or Minnesota. You guys are pretty classy lead by one of the classiest of all. I really hope we can do you a big favour saturday night. If you guys win saturday as well, then destiny will truly be in your hands. The game on sunday would be ****ing ridiculous, I wouldn't miss it for very much. Good luck to you guys, I hate the flames and Stastny ****ing owns.

Edit: The only team I personally dislike is Vancouver in the division. Everyone else I have no personal feelings against.

We live to see another day!

That was nerve racking. At least the Avs have made this final stretch fun for us fans.

The Flames had better beat the Oilers at home on Saturday.

Haha, they weren't trying to lose the game. They just didn't have anymore energy to keep the foot on the pedal. They battled through a tough game in Anaheim last night.

Anyways, I hope the Oilers beat the Flames so you guys can have a kickass game against the Flames. Man, that would be sweet.

Good luck guys!

I think you're looking for the Calgary board...

Honestly man...you must be some sort of botard to post that on the Avs board.

Have some faith in your youth! Have some faith...in Hemsky. Hockey Night in Canada. You can't fail! <_<

Seriously, good luck.
