Great road period! Horcoff is continuing to play well.. he scored the goal but he also was great in the defensive zone and got us out of a trouble spots. Tommy wasn't tested too much but he looked pretty good controlling the rebounds.. Izzy showed some great wheels on that breakway but I thought he could have gotten a better shot off. Hopefully play the same in the 2nd!

1-0 after 1.

Who are the Oilers playing against? Some team from Sweden? Those uni's are horrible.

As a poster that has been critical of Brewer.........let me be the first to say that I think he has only had one bad shift since returning from his injury. Maybe he thinks the game a bit differently with Fergie......I don't know. What a hard hit at the blueline.

Ferguson is starting to think he's the big outlet passer again. That moment where he was holding the puck behind his net and the Kings fan were getting impatient. Finally steps around the net and trys firing it right up the middle to the red-line. Not good.

I like Staios, but he has to be leading all defensman that has point shots blocked. How often do his point shots get close to the goal mouth? I'm not trying to get on a Staios rant because I love the guy. But Steve.......ya gotta learn to fake the shot more often. It gets players running around a bit more also. Still like him....

Semi's fumbling a bit but covering up good.

I said Horcs was coming around........

good game by the oilers so far. i admit they are turning the corner and it does look like the oates, dvorak and torres line might be something special soon. time to eat crow here, good job by horcoff, have to admit he is playing a lot better. i wonder if the comrie trade will dissipate the dark cloud over this team, so far from the game tonight the guys look really relaxed and focused. GO OILERS GO.

that gaffe by semenov during the kings pp was terrible but his recovery was excellent. love this guy, think he could be a helluva player.

Trailing 2-1 after 2 periods.

Oilers were skating in the first, but some shifts looked like "public skating" or something in the 2nd.

That Dvorak, Oates and Torres line was really inneffective that period. It's the first period of hockey in a while that I didn't like Torres one bit. His positioning and anticipation looks goofy at times. (Now with g2k saying that he'll score the winner...lol)

I really like what Smith and Klatt have going.

Screened 5 hole but some tenders have their goalsticks on the ice in front of them and stop that shot. Tommy has made a couple of good saves since. But the Kings had their way with the Oilers for most of the 2nd period.

Oil hit a wall there in the 2nd. A few points:

1. Salo's still not up to snuff, but has made some beauty saves. The puck is bouncing off his pads so hard someone is going to lose an eye, though.

2. Stoll's already a wonderful player. Beauty tie up on Sim (I think Sim) in that period in close.

3. Cross is one of those guys who looks so damn goody when the puck is near him and he can't see it. makes him look clumsy, but he's a good hockey player.

4. Horcoff's coming around, good to see.

5. Has anyone added up the average size of Brewer, Cross, Semenov, Lynch, Woywitka? Bergeron's going to need a ladder.

6. We'll know in the first 2 minutes of the third if they have anything. But if they come out running and gunning, and get a powerplay, they should refuse it.

Kings looked great that period. Really a one sided affair for the whole time. Great game so far though. Salo pulled your butts out of the fire a couple of times. Boy that Torres is having a solid game. Lots of speed and knows what to do with the puck when he has it. Stoll is average tonight but thats to be expected. Jason Smith is playing with some edge and I bet he gets another point before it is all over.

Kuznetsov is a pilon for the Kings tonight and if it weren't for Huet playing so well there were more than one occasion that he could have given you lot the lead or a shot at it.

If they offered MacT a tie game right now, I bet he'd bite. Speaking of MacT, he's aging quicker than the American President! He should really get some sleep.

He's taking after Lowe Then again, I bet any one of us would look just like either one of them if we were coaching or managing the Oilers, and never knowing what to expect from the team day to day.

4-2 Frolov ends it with a ENG. Thought Oil played pretty well some strong performances Kings just a kittkle better. Really liked Hemmer tonight, Izzy is becoming more and more noticable and Salo was pretty good but again special teams were a let down.

On the Kings I really like Frolov kid looks like a stud.

On a positive note I found out that van Earl Wright is on Fox West one of my fav sportscasters from his days on CNNSI.

I dunno tough call. Salo made some decent saves, but he should have had that last goal.
