The Leafs traded out of the 78th spot in last years draft to pick up a 4th rd pick. The Flyers took Ruzicka who is excelling in Owen Sound well Sagat and Volkov surpass Ruzicka. The Blues drafting a little later took the next good young goaltender out of Russia in Barulin Wall #2, Then the Blues took another Russian Zakharov who is doing well in the QMJHL Fergy is known for his scouting in Finland and Russia where the Blues have been harvesting picks out of the last two years, along with former Sens Super head scout who mined many gold nuggets out of Europe for the Sens.

Even you know that it is tooooooooooo early to tell the outcome of all these 18 year old kids and in 3 or 4 years we will be reflecting back on the draft and pick 4 or 5 others that are not mentioned today but my make NHL contibutions...

The draft is a crap shoot and hindsight is 20 /20...

indeed.

I personally think in terms of offensive upside, it's like this...

1. Stefan Ruzicka
2. Konstantin Volkov
3. Martin Sagat

I don't know much about Zakharov.

But of all 5 guys named, Konstantin Barulin has the most upside.

Yes 20/20 is hindsight that's why I like to stay ahead of the curve.
