We better not win this game, or even get a point.

And see in my mind that's what you want from your players going down the stretch, playing solid games and building confidence for next season.

Without a doubt. Thats why I am not sold on this team losing every game down the stretch as a positive. It's tough because as a team they have nothing much to play for but as an individual each player has an opportunity to show some pride in their game. I haven't seen much of that at all in the last couple of weeks. Tough for Lowe not to notice who hasn't been showing up.

I agree, but I find it's a lack a familiarity and skill that's costing them, as well as experience. I was at the game, the last home game, when they lost 4-0 to Nash. Save for Torres, it wasn't a blow out because of a lack of effort, it was just a lack of skill.

Come on Hemsky, this may be your team, but YOU have to make better decisions.

COME ON.

There's the superstar Hemsky...and there's the Hemsky we're seeing today.

D4T5 is sitting up from the morgue slab.

anybody else find that this feed from chitown is the worst you've ever seen? sportsnet really needs to do something to their video quality if they want me to keep watching next year

Hemsky needs to be more consistent. Some times he is the best player on the ice and sometimes he plays so sloppy. You can usually tell if Hemsky is going to have a good game or not by the way he plays in his first couple of shifts of the game.

That was a nice 4th line energy shift there.

On the whole I can't complain with the effort by the Oilers today, but what can you do? They're just not a very good hockey team right now.

I think with the way hockey teams play nearly every other night, broadcasters have to use whatever equipment is available at each rink. Be it good, like in TO and MTL or **** like in Chicago or Nashville. I think it would way too expensive for a network to haul equipment all over NA following a single team around.

Losing to Chicago requires extraordinary measures.

Clearly the lack of skill has played a big role but I have witnessed too many Oilers consistently getting beat in battles for the puck. Thats more a product of desire as apposed to talent.

Now it's losing to Chicago and Havlat having no point requires extraordinary measure.

This Oiler team is the worst in the history of the franchise and by far the worst team in the NHL.
