Ok..not like he has much of a choice with the way our starting pitching has been, but Torre wearing out the bullpen is REALLY frustrating me. These guys have been so good but they are going to be shot by the all-star break.

I'm excited to see Hughes' first start...in fact, I may try to pick up a ticket since the Rangers aren't playing that night..I just hope that they aren't rushing him along. It's going to be a bit of a cold night and I thought they didn't really want him in a situation like that.

He's been pitching in Scranton, not exactly warm there. He'll need to learn how to pitch in cold weather sooner or later. We'll see. If he stays within himself and doesn't overthrow, he should do solid.

I'm anxious to see Hughes' start as well. His first two starts in AAA were shaky, but his last one he was lights out. I don't know that he's ready to dominate at the ML level, though with his velocity and command I think he'll be fine. He certainly can't be worse than what the Yanks have gotten, can he?

The weather isn't my biggest concern..it's just that I hope he isn't being pushed along too quickly just due to some early-season injury concerns. Then again, they did this with Wang (and Cano) in 2005, so maybe it will work. I'm definitely excited to see him though.

Same here. With Hughes we have only begun to see what the Yankees can argue with young right handed starters in the next few years. If it all goes according to plan the Yankees will have more starters than they even need down the road, assuming everything stays the way it is now. Of course that won't happen as some of these prospects will be traded, get injured (like Sanchez, Garcia)...

Funny, there's no mention of this on either Yankees.com or MLB.com...

Most of the Yankee players seemed pleasantly shocked at the way it was done. It appeared that no one knew (maybe Pettite did).
