Will be interesting to see which Russian players from the QMJHL/OHL/WHL join this team for each two game set.

This seems to be the best roster they have sent.

The question is...will Maxim Kitsyn stay in North America to play with Mississauga after the series is over?

From what I've heard and read, things aren't going great for him in the KHL right now and the Majors still have that Import spot open.

It's not the best roster, but it ain't too bad either. Look out for Pavel Zdunov, he's in good shape right now and just yesterday he scored to Hasek the GWG for his metallurg MG against Spartak. Good player - fast, skilled, just a bit undersized.

Do you think Alexander Avtsin could join them (if he is healthy) for this series and the WJC? Or does the Russian Hockey Federation hold it against him for coming over?

Namestnikov has been very solid in last view games and isnt worse than Khohlachev. they are pretty even in stats either so no suprises here.

Vladimir(as well as Kuznetsov for Traktor) is one of the Sibir's leaders, so they wont release him

They don't have guys like Zaytsev, Kuznetsov, and Tarasenko on this roster because those guys are already locks for the team. The guys on this roster are all mostly on the bubble, probably 5 or 6 of these guys tops will make the actual roster for WJC... But yeah, first year they send mostly guys who have played in the KHL this year. Guy to watch: Panarin.

Probably be more than 5-6 of these guys on WJC team.
I'd say the only locks are Kuznetsov, Tarasenko, Kitsyn, Orlov, Arzamastsev, Zaitsev, Marchenko and Bobkov....maybe Tochitsky and Sobchenko too.
