If Tukonen gets time on one of the top 2 lines (instead of Armstrong) the Kings top six could have an average age of 22 (21.8). With Cammi (24) and Frolov (24) being the oldest and Kopitar (19) the youngest. Tukonen (20) , Brown (22), and O'Sullivan (20).

I know Tukonen is still a prospect and might not stick with the big club, but with the other 5 the future looks bright.

Thornton, seriously doubt he'll be gone. He's DL's guy.
I said "2006-07" meaning that with Tukonen and maybe the others getting to play in the last 2 or 3 games that HOPEFULLY it would be Willsie, Thornton and Modry as the odd men out... but you know it's gonna be people like Dallman, Kostopoulos, Ivanans...

He doesn't have to worry; he'll get it back next season...unless the Kings retire it.

I looked on Yahoo and ESPN - they both had him wearing #46.

Every time I think that
I'm the only one who's lonely
Someone calls on me
And every now and then
I spend my time at rhyme and verse
And curse those faults in me

And then along comes Modry
And does he want to give me kicks and be my steady chick
And give me pick of memories
Or maybe rather gather tales from all the fails and tribulations
No one ever sees
When we met I was sure out to lunch
Now my empty cup tastes as sweet as the punch

When vague desire is the fire
In the eyes of chicks whose sickness
Is the games they play
And when the masquerade is played
The neighbor folks make jokes
At who is most to blame today

And then along comes Modry
And does he want to set them free and
Let them see reality
From where he got his name
And will they struggle much
when told that such a tender touch of his
Will make them not the same
When we met I was sure out to lunch
Now my empty cup tastes as sweet as the punch

And when the morning of the warning's passed
The gassed and flaccid kids
Are flung across the stars
The psychodramas and the traumas gone
The songs have all been sung
And hung upon the scars

And then along comes Modry
And does he want to see the stains,
The dead remains of all the pain
He left the night before
Or will their waking eyes reflect the lies
And make them realize
Their urgent cry for sight no more
When we met I was sure out to lunch
Now my empty cup tastes as sweet as the punch

Sweet as the punch

I didn't think you were that old....

OT, this might be the only song that has "psychodrama" in the lyrics.....

Considering the fact that when he was drafted he was considered the most NHL ready draftee I think it's safe to assume that he has isn't that talented in the first place. In fact he was always considered to be solid in all areas but not good to great in any aspect. I will not be disappointed if he becomes nothing more than a two way third liner.

He is solid in all areas. Doesn't go looking for the big hit, but if the hit is there, he'll make it. He finishes his checks and is typically where he's supposed to be. He's been playing a very aggressive game the past couple of weeks or so. Because he's been in Manchester for two seasons now, I have to remind myself that he's still only 20-yrs old at times. Very smart player with good instincts. He'll be fine...

I'm happy that he's been recalled, but I would've preferred him to be recalled a lot earlier than this. Assuming that he doesn't get sent back down, just by the time that he may be getting comfortable, the season will be over. Three games isn't going to prepare him much for next year's training camp, but a dozen games might've. I'll still be looking forward to seeing him get a real chance. For now, though, I'm glad to have a better reason to watch tonight's game. Now, if they just get Moulson up for a richly-deserved cup of coffee, I'll be content with this last week of the season.

i am very happy about tukonen being called up, and as said in this thread, i was hoping moulson would be joining him. Tukonen is a very young solid prospect, whose major obstacle has been injury that has literally taken him out of the game for an extended periods of time. Coming back from that always takes time, but when he is healthy you see that up side.

I will be forever scarred by the latest BHG album cover.

I'm sure Tukonen will get more time than his last outing. 7:00 in his last game was so weak I barely remember seeing him.

Have you ever seen him play in the AHL?

I love this kid. No more than a 4th liner in the NHL, but he has great heart and knows his role.

Yes they are. And McCauley has two more years remaining on his contract.

Concur.

Guiliano has one of the best on ice work ethics I've ever seen. If that's not a good example for the kids I don't know what is.

McCauley is getting a very bad rep around here. He is an excellent player when used properly.

Tukonen should get #9 since Pushkarev isn't using it.

That's because of the similarities he has with the great Valeri Bure signing. It was known that McCauley was going under the knife, and rather than waiting to see how he'd rehabilitate, he was given a three-year contract. We'll see if it pays off next season, if he is fit to play...

Adequate at best... and having had surgery on BOTH knees and needing over a full year to properly rehab, he's not at his best, so less than adequate and a very bad signing at any price by Mr. Lombardi.

and it's a very bad "rap" not "rep" Rep is "reputation" and he's not getting a bad reputation around here... his reputation is that he works hard, but he has two bum knees. Not his fault.
