Well, Kings lose and another opportunity to give Tukonen and Piskula decent ice-time wasted. At least Johnson got some for the first time.

Johnson: 21:56... yay
Tukonen: 8:32... boo
Piskula: 10:44... boo

I thought JJ was the best defenseman out there for the Kings. Maybe Heward.

I'm not one to look at ice time stats but it seems JJ was on the ice every time I looked. PP, PK, 5-5.

I don't know how you people who root for the Kings to lose (for a better draft pick) can call yourself fans. It still kills me every time they lose.

I didnt see it. He wasn't glaring but I'd like to see him do some dirty work. He doesn't quite look comfortable boxing out the net. I thought Piskula looked better in his limited time.

Johnson still only has 1 shot in 3 games. I keep watching these games hoping to see this kid shoot. He's killing me with his timidness.

JJ has been horrid. Sorry to **** on the parade.

Sure it's been only three games, but he's been bad. No reason to sugarcoat it.

You may be the only one with those thoughts. I have read and heard nothing but glowing reports and I agree with them. Sure we'd like to see him score but he just isn't getting the puck. The only time he does is when he makes it happen himself.

I don't think they're rooting for them to lose as much as they really don't care if they win.

It's just how I feel. I don't think it means anything in the long-term because it's only been three games, but that's just how he's played.

Good passing, good shot, not so great anything else.

Just my .02.

Horrid = being a liability (i.e. Modry).
JJ has been steady. Nothing flashy from him so far. He just got done playing a full season of college hockey and for the first time is experiencing playing hockey beyond 40+ games. I hope that he is selected to participate in the World Championships to represent the US to get some more games under his belt. The more experience will be beneficial to him and the Kings.

I have a tendency to overstate things due to my word usage, in case nobody's noticed yet. I say things like horrid and great a lot. I just haven't liked his positioning or how often he jumps below the goal-line. At least those are things that can be fixed rather easily. His play has not been good and that's ok. It makes no difference right now.

He should be getting 25 minutes a game, btw. More time is better regardless of how he's been playing. Same for Piskula.

I will curb my vocabulary so that nobody gets the wrong idea from what I'm trying to say.

Either way I can't understand it. To me, they've lost all perspective on what it means to be a fan.

And there are MANY here who have been rooting for the high pick, some from early in the season. Some are semi-joking, but others are most definitely not.

I really liked the opportunities that he had in his 1st game, though. He was poised at the circle on the PP, just waiting to let the bombs fly, but he never got the puck passed to him cleanly. At even strength, I'm not surprised that he's struggling to get shots on net because the Canucks and Sharks are so strong on defense. They're also fast and skilled on offense, so Jack has to play a lot of defense. I think that we'll be happier with his play against the Coyotes. I'll be really shocked if he doesn't get his first NHL point against them.

Some people just have longer term goals as fans...

It is about perspective, but no one's lost it, IMO. It's just that different people have different perspectives, and one of those is a forward-looking perspective which includes getting the best possible player in the draft so that we'll all have fewer meaningless games like this in the future.

Honestly, I have trouble understanding your perspective, as well, since it's been a long time since I was so attached to a team that I felt sick when they lost. I'm way past that and glad for it. Still, though, I respect your perspective. It's not my way, but it's another way of looking at things, and if it suits you better, great; my way suits me better, as well. That's all that's really important, and if we can have a mutual respect in this regard, we can all still get along perfectly well.

It bothers me too, but it's their decision to do so. I don't really care either way.

We lose, we get the higher pick. That's good.

We win with the kids playing well, they get experience and feel like they can win some games on their own. That's good too. Winning with guys like Modry, Armstrong (and I like him) and Miller doing well serves no purpose. That's why I don't want them playing a whole lot. Give all the kids 20 minutes or more to show what they've got. I really don't see why Tukonen gets called up and plays less than 9 minutes. Piskula's been steady and gets 10 minutes. how fun

How is winning a couple of meaningless games at the end of a meaningless season a great goal? Getting the opportunity to draft someone who could possibly put this team into a position where they could actually win a Stanley Cup in the next decade seems like a far more worthy goal.

If the Kings were actually in a position to make a push for the playoffs the opinions of many here would be vastly different. But since that is no longer an option then putting the team in the best position to improve for the future seems like a worthy thing to "encourage".

When LA went on to win a 3 of their last 4 meaningless games in 02-03 it cost the team Phanuef. But hey, we are the fans that have lost perspective.
