Lang = 40 Points

Wow. Jagr goes out with and injury in the first and Lang puts up 4 points with about 16 minutes left in the game.

As the Atlanta annoncer put it "This guy just doesn't miss this year".

I must say Lang is WORTH what he is being paid. He has definately made a believer out of me. He's proving people wrong and I'll admit I'm one of those guys being proved wrong and I love that he is.

Doesn't help much when his team is nowhere close to a playoff spot.

Okay. What does this have to do with the thread? Having a bad day and trying to find someone to argue with?

I knew he was a good player, but 40 points? good to see him play well.

It has everything to do with the thread. It is pointless to praise a 4-point night and a good individual season so far when the team is doing poorly.

Giving Pavel Datsyuk kudos is different...his team is in first place.

PS: I find your trolling un-necessary and un-deserving of a response.

I haven't seen you ragging on Rick Nash, but maybe it's time you start. Lang is one of the most improved players in the league, on and off the stat-sheet. His individual performance deserves to be noticed by fans of the sport.

I did not. I stated an opinion. If that pissed somebody off, I can't help that.

Alright I think we need to add these new rules onto some sort of list so other people like me dont miss them.

1. No having fun watching hockey unless your team is in a playoff position.

2. No talking about your team positively unless your team is in a playoff position.

3. No praising your players even if they lead the league in scoring unless his team is in the playoffs.

edit: Oh yeah I was jsut stating my opinion that I think you are looking for someone to argue with (as you do when your in bad moods). It wasnt trolling man!!!

That's fine. Just don't go whine about someone trolling your post when you blatantly trolled this thread in general. Like I said that was very hypocritical of you.

Give it a rest. I do not see my first comment as trolling. If you do, then that is your opinion, and I cannot do anything about that.

My intent was not to piss people off, but to make a statement based on my opinions. If it pissed people off....oh well I guess.

Obviously you knew it would annoy and anger Capitals fans.... You aren't that naive Vanny.

I'm not a Caps fan whatsoever, I just dislike hypocritical people. Let the Caps fan's enjoy the success in Lang. don't crap all over them.

What a load of crap.

Robert Lang is doing his part to help the Washington Capitals. He's doing so much that his performance is certainly worth have a thread dedicated to it.

The complete lack of logic in your statement that an individual effort shouldn't be discussed on a poor team is absolutely ridiculous. But, coming from a referee I can't exactly say I'm surprised.

I had no problem with your opinion until this....

What the hell does me being an official have anything to do with this?

...And I was accused of trolling?...

If Datsyuk was single-handedly leading his team to first place, you'd have an argument. However, Lang doesn't especially have the supporting cast Datsyuk has.

I'm not taking anything away from Datsyuk, but Lang putting up 40 points certainly is something to talk about, whether or not Washington is gunning for Ovechkin.

As long as you dog Fleury, too, then it's understandable. He's doing a good job on a team that probably won't make the playoffs. Does that make his efforts invalid?

(Note to Pens fans: In no way am I dogging Fleury; he's fantastic. What a player. Next truly great goalie, IMHO.)

If anything, it makes their accomplishments a bit more impressive, in that they are working hard and getting things done on thier shifts, despite the odds against them.

Ok how about this, as a whole this year we're the worst team in the league. Point taken. I know that, other people know that our fans ALLLLL know that. But I mean what should we just say only bad things about our team? It's not like Lang is being a leech if I ma say so myself Jagr is leeching off of Lang. If I or any other Caps fan wants to say a positive thing about the NHL's scoring leader then why can't he or I? It's something to be happy about, just like Maxime Ouellets first NHL shutout tonight. Personal small things can be built off of and lead to a better team. If all your going to do is talk negative about something that should be positive why even post? It's a waste of Database space.

Don't you get it... unless your team is good you can't post anything about them. I'm betting this is a rule that started with either Canucks fans or Wings fans...

Thats it. Everyone that posted in this thread after I gave you the rule list is banned (except vanny, he didnt break them his team is in the playoffs). You had your warning (the rules list in this thread), I'm jsut waiting for a mod to come in here and clean this up.

edit: Sorry CalgaryThrasher gets to stay too. (good job flames)

Lang is one of the few bright spots that the Caps have so far this year, I don't know why the Caps not being close to a playoff team would diminish that.
