Fair value? Well, looks like this was about what the market was offering.

Good trade? Could be eventually. It's not a good trade for the short term, and Lowe said many times he wanted help for now as well as the future. I don't think he's done working, I think he just got dealt a different hand.

i think it will end up as a good trade, there was problems in Comrie's game plus we have some good centre prospects coming through in two years time and with this switch we have two extra picks to make some pitches in the upcoming draft and also we've now got Woywitka who I think will end up being that missing piece of our d in about 4-5 years time:

Brewer - Semenov
Woywitka - Lynch
Bergeron - Greene

can you say to that d lineup (if things pan out)

remember we've also lost the intagibles that Comrie brought, we've lost the go to guy but we've also lost (supposedly) the biggest whiner in the dressing room and if a rift was coming because of him then all the better

It become pretty clear that nobody would trade a top 6 forward for Comrie. With that said the deal is OK and for Comrie to play in the east is even better.

Comrie to EC - good

Obtained a good 20 year old dman with top 4 potential - good (better than Perry and it fills a clear need)

First round pick - good (not as good as the ducks pick but it's a crap shoot between #15 and #25 anyway)

Third round pick - bonus (makes up for the lower first round pick IMHO)

Wow...I'm really impressed by the positive votes. I thought Oil fans were going to lynch Lowe.

Decent return for a player with diminishing trade value.
