With Varada now out for maybe the whole year, and with Ottawa already looking for a LW anyways...it seems that Ottawa "might" have interest in Zaumner. He passed through waivers so perhaps Ottawa can get him for a song and a dance and maybe even convince his team to eat some of the $2 million salary. I think Zaumner is still a servicable 3rd line LW'er.

No thanks...I'll take Vermette in that particular role.
Zam was here once...there is a reaon why he is not anymore and the bruins waived him.
When Toronto swept Ottawa, in game 3, the Leafs are up 2-0 with 5 minutes to play. Ottawa manages to score its FIRST 2 goals of the series to tie it up (remember, this is GAME 3 at this point) and send the game to OT.
Not 3 minutes into the OT session, Corry Cross scores. And why does Cross score? Because our "gritty, defensive forward" Rob Zamuner is too lazy to cover him, and instead is coasting 5 feet behind him, letting Cross walk into a slapshot from 40 feet.
May we never have anything to do with Zamuner EVER again.
this is a great idea- zams to ottawa. let's see, i'll make the b's offer:
to boston-
1 2002 mint condition marty mcinnis upper deck card
1 puck bag (pucks are optional)
to ottawa-
a limo driver to pick up zams at the airport, and drive him ANYWHERE
a time machine, to take us back to 1996, when zams was sorta useful
1...million...dollars

fair?
The mint condition card is the breaker for me. I've only got a slightly worn one? Does that work for you?

well, since both a mint conditioned & slightly worn marty mcinnis card each sell for 1 cent (US dollars), i think we can make it work. mike o'connell wanted the card as a reminder what a waste of 1.75 million dollars per year was, so i suppose the "mint condition" isn't much of a condition

Hmm...we're getting close I think.
If you throw in an Alexandre Daigle rookie card coming my way...it's a done deal!
