The Official Atlanta Braves Thread!

That's a little disappointing.

I'm a Braves fan and I thought I could come here to talk a little baseball too, but I see there's not even a thread.

Are there any other Braves fans here?

Understandable.

I guess we can make this the official Braves thread!

I don't get a chance to watch many games anymore because of TBS's drop in coverage, but because they're playing the Mets, I get all the games this weekend on the Mets station here.

Is Braves bashing still considered "trolling" even if this is one of my main boards?

no Braves bashing!!

so a61, you should make a road trip down here for a game or 2 this summer!

how did u become a braves fan, anyway?

i think it's smoltz vs glavine tomorrow...no, they're slated for saturday's game ... that should be fun, but i'll have other things on my mind!!!

if u make it down, we can hit the pub where the braves go after the game....my friend is the manager...just pick up cg12 on the way down, we'll have a par-tay

Honestly? I was 6 years old when '91 happened. And the next season, I was fascinated that TBS would play EVERY game on TV. At that time (I was living in Buffalo still....which is really no team's "territory") there was really no baseball on, but I could always count on the Braves being on TBS every day, and I was able to follow them. They're the only team I ever liked.

I just noticed that while writing a wrap-up on my blog that I'm doing for the Braves this season. I can't wait!

great blog! "They might have blown that 8-1 lead last year." sad but SO TRUE!!

i so agree on mccann, too. he's going to be a star (if he isn't already)...i've loved him ever since his first game, where he drove his old pickup to the game and parked it next to all the fancy escalades and stuff in the players lot...it was awesome. and how can u not love a new kid who hits a homer off roger clemens? he rocks on and off the field!

i like your 3 stars ... put a little hockey in there

oh, and at least the BRAVES can beat a team from Philly....

there really are only a few weeks that there's no hockey going on...no camps or anything....you can pretty much do hockey stuff year round almost

i actually became a thrashers fan as something to do in the braves offseason...baseball was my first love. now, since discovering hockey, baseball seems a bit slow but i still love it

I remember watching Wickman play for the Birmingham Barons over here back when he was in the White Sox organization. He's learned to reign it in a bit and have some control.

I've always been more of a Minor League Baseball fan mayself. Just got back from Regions Park(Formerly Hoover metropolitan Stadium), watching the Birmingham Barons play the Carolina Mudcats(Future Marlins.) Barons win 6-4 after the Barons pitcher loads up the bases in the top of the 9th, walks in a run, and then throws two strikeouts in a row. Geez....Two nights in a row of heart attack finishes...

i mistakenly said we "evened" the series with the win today, but we actually beat the mets 2 of 3 games. duh

i'm still a bit too distracted to pay attn to baseball yet!! (and i'm sure that will only get worse haha)

i was supposed to go today, but it was too cold and my dad didn't want to go and i didn't want to go alone.

never been to a minor league game but i've heard they're awesome!

the baseball threads on the other boards are stickied...maybe btn will sticky this one for us, as sucky as baseball is and all (if you don't like it, don't click on it )

We really need to find someone to replace Mark Redman. He's horrible.

Huge Braves fan (and yes I'm a Ranger fan) it's nice to see some actual intelligent discussion about the Braves... The official site's forum is run by little kids who want to trade everyone after a loss.. Nice to know I can come back here and chat with you guys..

How about Tim Hudson this year guys?

sounds familiar

ok, so this is pretty damn lame if you ask me....am i the ONLY ONE on the thrashers board that likes the braves?....that's cool we have some "outsiders" in here, but...

i don't really care though. nice to have someone else to chat with. to tell you the truth, i still haven't watched but a handful of games yet (hockey!!!!) but what i've seen i've been extremely encouraged by our relief pitching. what a difference from last season!!

wow rangers down by 2 now....better get back to hockey (yes i'm cheering for the rags now )

No Gamera your not the only one. I just try not to pay to much attention until May. With that said.

Wickman has looked shakey this week.

Bullpen looks a lot better than last year by a lot.

Hudson and Smoltz (so far) look like the best 1-2 punch in the NL.

The rest of the rotation looks likes it needs helppppppp. James will have a good year....but I doubt he is as good as he was last year.

McCann looks like a year after year all star.

Frenchy looks like he is finally learning how to hit. Hey, he might hit double digits for walks for the season.

Johnson is a pleasant surprise with not only his bat but also his defense. It's not spectacular but very solid.

Checking in from Vancouver. I'm a huge Braves fan as well.

Smoltzie's takin' the mound tonight against Colorado. Gotta keep rollin'... can't count on the Mutts to choke anymore.
