I used to love the braves i would watch every single game, but they traded my favorite player Marcus Giles and i've only watched about 10 games this year.

We lost to the Indians 5-2. On Sunday.

Haha, glad you had a good time here. New York fans sometimes take a bad rap nationally, but for the most part we will talk some smack and then shake your hand and say good game afterwards

Steep, steep price... Salty's gonna be a beaut, and Andrus is projected to be a stud as well, but wow, the Braves have a killer lineup now. Mash-city.

Dotel to Braves?

Quote:
Braves take lead in bidding for Dotel
The Braves could be on the verge of not only acquiring the best hitter on the trade market, but one of the best relievers as well.

In addition to reaching a preliminary agreement for Rangers first baseman Mark Teixeira, the Braves are close to a deal for Royals closer Octavio Dotel, according to major-league sources.
The Braves, Indians and Dodgers are the three finalists for Dotel, sources say. Royals general manager Dayton Moore, previously an executive with Atlanta, is intimately acquainted with the Braves' farm system.

The addition of Dotel would give the Braves a trio of formidable right-handers in the late innings -- Dotel, Rafael Soriano and Bob Wickman.

The Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers and Mariners also have shown interest in Dotel.

Dotel to the Braves is all but done. Just waiting on the finalization of Teixera.

Deal is likely Davies, Thorman, Prospect Pitcher for Dotel.

This just may be the best day of my Atlanta Braves Fan Career, well almost!!

I am almost willing to BET that Atlanta WILL acquire a starting pitcher before the deadline.

Word is they are eying Javier Vasquez.

Apparently the rumored deal for Dotel looks like this:

To Atlanta:
Dotel

To KC:
P Kyle Davies
SS Prospect Brent Lillibridge
P Prospect Manuel Acosta

Thorman may or may not be part of the deal, but still a pretty large package for a rental reliever. All in all, a good deal for both teams. Dotel did very well for the Royals, and his trade value became very high, and the Royals needed to rebuild the pitching system. The Braves needed more pen help after some tough injuries, and will have made a top pen w/ Soriano, Wickman and now Dotel.
