I feel damn odd considering I hate the Avs and Foppa above all but now that he's a Pred it feels damn strange.

Really am pulling for a solid game and for you guys to make the playoffs though

Here's a great article about the Forsberg aspect of the game:

Ouch, seems like Forsberg can read my mind, or worse,he reads my posts

In addition, his relationship with Avalanche great Joe Sakic created a special combination of NHL talents rarely seen on one team.

"When I came in, he had a couple years under his belt and he was the captain, so he helped me out," Forsberg said. "I owe him a lot. I don't think I'll be elbowing him in the head.''
Scary

Just noted something.

Forsberg need 4 pts tonite, or he will have his first sub 1 ppg season.

Kind if funky that he'll lose his streak while playing against Avalanche.

Or most likely will at least.

The Avs are known to be a classy organization when it comes to honoring players from other teams at the Pepsi Center.

that said, you have to wonder how much the video tribute they played for him had to do with him being a free agent this summer.

I'd say zero since they did the exact same thing for Foote.

Imagine adding Leopold, Forsberg and Ryan Smyth to the team

48 million buy you this:

Smyth - Sakic - Forsberg (18 million)
Wolski - Stastny - Hejduk (6)
Brunette - Arnason - Svatos (5)
Laaksonen - Hensick - Richardson (2)

Liles - Leopold (4)
Skrastins - Clark (4)
Vaananen - Sauer (2)
Cumiskey - Klee (2)

Budaj (1)
Theodore (2)
FA (2)

That doesn't do much to address the defensive woes we saw this year. Scoring really wasn't the problem, defense was. And, at some times, goalie.

We will be parked in offensive zone all night! Maybe Smyth can backcheck on occasion

Opponents will get one chance each period. That's why they can keep scoring down to 3-6.

Or screw Smyth and throw in Hannan instead!

the conundrum Giguere will face this offseason. Defense over the last 6 weeks of the season was markedly improved. Is that a representation of how this unit is capable of playing, having finally reached their potential? Is it just a good stretch they won't be able to recreate next year?

I think the answer is probably somewhere in between, but I firmly believe that we need scoring as much - if not more - than defense this summer.
